Broken Heart

oh how the grieving process goes round and round and I never know what is going to set it off. My heart has been aching as bad as it did the night Ken left this place I call home. How I miss him so much.  The pain came on full force on the way home from Va just as it did that night at the hospital. ...then came why didn't I do more.  Why didn't I as his mom who God loaned to me and the baby boy laid in my arms?..why could I not find something, why could I not convince him howhe needed to do the second Sten-cell transplant. Why did I not tell him I know it was rough but a few weeks out of a longer life so worth it to me his mom. Yet, I did push him, ask him, tried to get him see the importance of it. The cells were available yet he kept putting it off. Just maybe it would have protected the brain. I don't know.  I just know I wish I could have ,would have talked harder, talked longer, had gotten through to him the importance but he didn't and I can't change that now. But if he had just maybe, but it was a maybe, a risk, I know his body was so tired of pain...maybe he just got tired. Tired of hurting(that I understand) tired of the chemo?.but not tired of his family, yet he just didn't want to go through, endure more, yet he had goals.  This pain will never stop. Yes, at times it is not as heavy. The tears don't always flow so heavy. The heart does not ache as it is now, but for now this is where I am again at the beginning of this thing they call grief.  Last night at church the subject dealt with grieving. No one knows sitting there but me what the pain of losing a child does. At least the pastor said "Don't say the words we have all heard that others think will give us peace, they don't". Oh if we could cry cry and let others know this horrible pain that floods our entire being.  Would that help if others understood I don't know. My husband pats me when he here's me softly crying but sometimes I want to wail, wail the pain I am feeling. But I don't.  now I cry softly more to myself yet I can feel my heart breaking.  Just to go back in time, change things, make everything better, yet knowing it is what it is.  I know somedays are easier other days the pain is more than it seems one is able to bare, yet their is no choice yet to keep moving forward. Coming here at FMO who knows the pain. Who let me vent and never tells me I am wrong.  Still it hurts and no one can take that. Yet all you do understand that there will be days like this. Thanks to all who listen or reads my journal know sometimes I just have to let this pain ouT and this is one of the times I cry!

I know, Sandi. No mother should have to endure what we have to endure. I am so sorry. Love to you and dearest Ken, Linda

A part of us have gone away, and no \"transplant\" can ever make it better! I have 2 wonderful children and 2 grandchildren, whom I love and cherish. But no-one in the whole world can fill Colleen\'s special place in my heart!

Our wounds are very deep, they hurt every day, because our love for our beautiful angels will be with us for as long as we live!

Gentle hugs! xxx

I am so sorry. If I could help by carrying some of your load I would, as others would for me, but it is ours to carry. I am so glad you are journaling and putting your grief in your journals...it helps so much. I lost my Daren almost 7 years ago (next week) and when I look back on some of my old journals I can really see how much I am healing. I will always miss and long for my son on a cellular level...I miss his physical presence, but I am learning to embrace my spiritual relationship with him...I now understand that a mothers relationship is forever...heartstrings keep us tethered forever...
I hope you can find some peace today. It know that it hurts...my only advice is to do exactly what you are doing...allow yourself to feel the pain however you chose to vent it. I write, cry (wail in the shower), let tears flow while driving, go to a quiet place and just BE...I have even went to the 2nd hand store and bought a punch of plates and broke them (advice from someone long ago) and it felt good--of course I had to clean up the mess! lol
I am proud of you that you are able to acknowledge your pain and that it ebbs and flows...may you find rainbows today!
And always remember, take care of you,
AnnM

Grateful that you feel safe enough to allow your feelings to find a voice as what you do feel matters.

There are these really heartbreaking and hard days in the midst of some with pause. Hoping that a pocket full of peace and pause may be yours today. Lots of deep belly breathing is how I navigate so many of my days and am grateful that I learned it from some very wise women here who shared that with me early on.

Loving care and continued healing for your broken heart dear Sandy.

Sandi, I logged on to post a journal because tomorrow will be 8 years since we lost Jeff. Your journal was almost word for word I would have said. I am not as good as you are with words but thank you so much for sharing. I trying to walk this morning and could hardly see for the tears streaming down my face. My heart breaks for you and all the Moms here at FMO. Thinking about you today my dear friend.

I guess we just have questions that we won\'t know the answer to in the here and now. Our truth is that we so miss our child, some days it hurts so badly and the grief bursts come forth. Sending you and Ken tender hugs,
Debbie

Dear Sandi, I am so sorry, you are hurting so badly. As Penny ( above ) said, \"having a grief splert\".... I have them too, when I least expect it...BAM!!! Tears, anxiety attack, can\'t breath, you know....a \"grief splert\". I like that name and shall call mine the same!!!

I bought picture frames and my friend Bobbi bought me a Willow Wood mother and son angel. I am going to fix a special place to put pictures, the angel and candles, so I can honor my son\'s memory, whenever I feel like it..

((((HUGS))))....Julia
