Brining it up in public
I was just in H&R Block asking about getting my taxes done. And my mom asks out of nowhere if I can get tax credits for having been pregnant almost all of last year. I told her under my breath that no I can't and that it doesn't matter, yet she continues on and keeps talking. The lady asks if she was stillborn and I had to say yes. I was in a totally normal state of mind and then I almost started crying in the middle of damn H&R Block!!

I just got my taxes done there too and I too had to tell them I had a stillbirth..they asked lots of questions and it got brought up..I dont know what he put in the comp after I told him but they gave me a tax credit for something and I ended up oweing 700.00 less than I was origanaly goin to pay.Like I said not sure what he put or if it was even for being pregnant. It sucks that we cant even do something like taxes without having to relive this all over again.
Some states actually acknowledge stillbirth and you can get the tax credit for a child. Not on Federal though. It can only be claimed one time. I actually had to tell my tax guy about it. (((Hugs)))
