I\'m still working at purchasing one. I want the Smith and Wesson 9mm Range Kit but they keep telling me they don\'t have it in and I can tell they are trying to unload their \'old\' inventory. Nonsense on that - I\'m holding out for the best.
Lock it away now and keep your \'power\' out of harms way. We need to be responsible gun owners and be prepared to use it for our defense and the defense of those we love and seek to protect - because this is one totally messed up human race on this planet.
Take very good care. My \'check out\' plans are with pain killers not pain creators. It is a relief to know I have within reach a way to end my suffering if necessary but that alone is enough to bring me relief to face another day - for now. Keep pouring it all out in your journal and find relief this way. Moment by moment. Anything good at all going on in your life? I know even with as awful as I have been abused and harmed I still am able to see the good - moment by moment. Keep sharing and it will allow you to set down the pain and drama that is inflicting so much harm. Journaling here is the best therapy I think there is - our support keeps me going.
Hand gun won\'t do squat if there\'s an intruder in the home. Subject has to come within range and it\'s VERY EASY to miss your target when you\'re terrified and shaking. Real house defense is shotgun, 12 or 20 gauge, #1 bird shot chambered first and last, slugs in the middle. Learn how to use it, it has a kick and you might end up on your butt but I guaranty the intruder will be LONG gone after he hears you load that cartridge into the barrel (the click is unmistakable.)
As for suicide: I don\'t understand how you got that weapon back, Mal, after having been hospitalized (as you mentioned in another journal). It\'s not a sure fire method (pun not intended) since every gun first must be sited and then must be held perfectly steady, almost impossible with one hand, so basically you could end up shooting off your nose or inflicting permanent brain damage on yourself (somethings that actually happened as relayed to me by my therapist). Gun safety is essential: must be a safe, ammo must be in a locked box hidden in another part of the house, or you could end up with a dead child or worse, come home and the robber has your weapon in his hand. I wish you would just STOP planning in this manner and try to see what medications work for you. Everyone is different, some meds work for one and not the other. I wish you could be honest with your therapist, I know you can\'t and that\'s just not right. Therapist should be the one person you can tell anything to without reprisal. Suicide hot lines are normally staffed by trained volunteers, I called one once to see what they SAY to people who call them, the woman was a total idiot. I don\'t know what else to say except that you are rational, you appear rational at least and I know that\'s no guaranty that you are (having thought my daughter rational that day when she did the most insane thing I\'ve ever heard of). This worries me, not just for your physical safety but your spiritual journey, as well. Can\'t you make an appointment with a new therapist and discuss this honestly? You don\'t even have to use your real name!

I never got the fire arm for house/intruder security but exclusively for suicide. They released the gun back to me because here in this state, as long as you were self-admitted (which I was), they can\'t with hold my fire arm from me or disallow me from obtaining another if I choose...now they only released the gun, not the ammunition. I have to go back separately for that. I will have the gun locked in it\'s case which will then be locked in a safe which will then be locked in a file cabinet...I will only retrieve it for one purpose only, if need be; and I hope I never get to that point. Having it as a back-up plan is, in a distorted way, a comfort to me...I just don\'t have any faith or trust that things will get better any time soon for me...

Please have someone to keep the gun for you. I feel nervous upon hearing this. Mal66, who will be around and tell me I am sweet?!
