boy is this hard
things i have noticed:
this very stressful time ,another back surgery had pushed my family into crisis mode.
the more pills he takes the more negative and defiant he is
we are so sick of it all that no one even cares any more!
as much as i THINK i am guilty, and non-supportive, and the meanest bitch ever, i find that just walking away is the best thing.
the knot in my stomach disappears one block from my home.
great strides in my own recovery at a surprising time
my son is an amazing man!!!!! (although he did actually slap his dad yesterday in an act of desperate anger guilt grief etc.)
tomorrow i start formal therapy with a codependence therapist...its my turn

It is hard not to be mad when all the attention is on the person who caused all the problems. I think my spouse\'s attitude will determine whether I can keep going.

when my son hit his dad, shit hit the fan> and here i was making baby steps in the detachment approach. although i believe that my son was more shocked than anyone by his action, so way out of his character and philosophy. my husband was pissed. tried the : \"i can\'t help you with this\".......tried the leaving the house...... he just went on and on about filial piety. blah blah blah
and i became incapable of following the rules so i let him have it reminding him that he was an active participant in the crazy all the while reminding him that this horrific action, son to dad, was a consequence and i wound not intervene or fix it. and i also drove home the fact that his son now had to live with even more mental anguish due to his guilt. . well well well guess who took meds appropriately today. no whining no crap of any kind. a one day vacation from insanity. freaky huh i guess he heard us. for this day it worked
