Bothersome Dreams
Recently I've been having night terrors...I haven't had night terrors this bad since last July...Its got me worried because of what the terrors are about. I think its a self esteem issue. I have repeats of the terrors for three nights and then another night terror comes into my brain. Here are summaries of the night terrors that I've had.
1: I am in a forest and I find a clearing with a waterfall. I go to get a drink when I see something behind the waterfall I go to investigate and when I peer behind the waterfall their is a shadow lady with white eyes. She reaches out to choke me and I scream...then I fall into a room full of mirrors. In each mirror is a scene of my life that replays over and over again, after I look at all of the sixteen mirrors they break. I fall to the ground and shattered glass pierces me...Then I wake up
2: I am at a masked ball with people I know but I cannot see their masks, I can only hear their voices. I am having fun until my escort leaves to dance with another lady without a mask. I then go to talk to other people that I know when I leave each person I talk to a crack appears on my mask. When I go to talk to the unmasked lady all she says is "Times Up" then my mask cracks and I look in the mirror behind her and I have no face and my body starts to turn to ash...Then I wake up
3: I am walking home from the library and it starts to rain when I am about to get home I heard a car horn I turn around and there are no cars in sight when I turn around my back starts burning. I go home and take a shower. When I get out of the shower I look at my back where there are marks all over like I was scratched with a small rake. When I turn around they are on my chest, then they appear on my arms I start to bleed and as I turn to the mirror again my throat is cut...and I wake up
What can I do about these night terrors I really need some suggestions I have been depressed lately and they are really making my depression worse

Night terrors are nothing nice. I have experienced many night terrors over the years.
For me the terrors were pure torture. To the point I was afraid to go to sleep. I would stay awake as long as I could. During the day the night terrors were not so severe as they were at night. So I would do my best to sleep in the day . I could only sleep for 2 or 3 hours at a time if that, otherwise a night terror would occur.
That night in August , I screamed myself awake, it was the 4th night in a row of the same night terror. It was 1 in the morning m I couldn\'t go back to sleep. I was too scared. I needed to get some rest .
I decided to go on the computer and go to one of my websites I like to visit, hoping to just chat with another member who\'s up , so I can get calmed down and get some rest.
I was able to find someone I could chat with, I ended up spilling my guts and telling her about the night terrors, my bleeding ears, and how I was afraid of going to sleep after dark., and stuff.
She asked if I had my bible handy.. and had me look up these verses:
Psalms 4:8 - I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety
Psalm 91:5
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Proverbs 3:24 - When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
Jeremiah 31:26 - Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me.
She suggested for me to read these these verses before going to sleep every night. She also said I should \"cast down\" the terrors .in Jesus\' name.
That night I decided to try it , so I read the verses before going to sleep. As I layed down and closed my eyes, I said \" I cast down any and all night terrors in Jesus Christ\'s name, Amen\".
Nothing-- I screamed myself awake from the night terrors
Second night, I tried again...read the verses and cast down the terrors ....nothing.. woke up screaming agin.
I didn\'t give up, the third night , I read the verses, and casted down the terrors. Slept all night , woke up well rested.
Since August of last year I have been reading the verses and casting down the terrors. The nights when I am too tired and lazy to read them, are the nights when the terrors taunt me. I do my best to read them no matter how tired and lazy I feel.
I still read these verses, most times I read them out loud.
.
I hope this is helpful for you as they have and are for me.
Your in my prayers.....
