Bluesday

Dearest,
What lovely weather! You’re missing all the fun! First came 4 – 6” of snow, followed by sleet, then freezing rain, then rain. I spent an hour tonight shoveling slush, nasty heavy slush and I only just got the straight part done. I wore the “mad bomber” hat that you always used to wear, thought about how much I miss you. I came in so tired that I could hardly lift my feet, my back hurt, my butt hurt and here comes a mouse tearing across the floor! Out of nowhere here comes Sox in hot pursuit! He catches the mouse, good boy!, looks up at me, mouse in mouth, turns and trots into the bedroom. I was dumbstruck! I go into the bedroom to lie down and nap perhaps, perchance to dream. I gave them a very calm explanation of how things are. Any cat that jumps on the bed with a mouse – Dies, any cat that wakes me up – spends a week living in a box.. If for any reason said mouse should run across my aching body – ALL cats in the house will find themselves living in boxes! I was very calm, no yelling, no drama, I just impressed upon them that I was serious. Oh, and mommies not here to defend you so no pardons or parole. Then I took my nap.
You know that Kitty Kat clock (Klock?) that you bought in Grand Central? Well, the battery finally died. I went to replace it and I thought “Abby put this battery in” then I started to feel very, very sad, then I started to cry. I put the clock back on the wall, it can be 4:30 forever. I got some of your bank accounts changed, doing things a little out of order but I can’t wait on Doogie Lawyer. I will call the investments guy tomorrow to find out about that account, it’s a bank, you have to talk to someone different for every issue. Told you to dump those robbers. Nick is handling all the other accounts, says he going to UPS me a box of paperwork. I’ll have to get something like 30 documents notarized! Arrgh!
The squirrel war seems to have been won for the moment, no recent incursions. They’re probably massing their troops, but so am I! I wonder if I could bring Koda home?? Hmmm? Or Lea! Mwahahaha.

Till the next snowfall, Your Ken

had to laugh about the mouse and the cat...but I\'d do the same thing if the cat or the mouse got up on the bed with me....afraid I\'d scream bloody murder then probably scream again breaking all creatures ear drums.....sorry you\'re getting snow and sleet, be careful....take it easy....hugs, Sandi

Ken,
Yes, the weather has been incredibly lovely. My driveway was flooding because the overpaid plow man covered up the storm drain. I spent an hour trying to shovel the ice and snow (2 feet deep) off the drain in the street in front of my home. My neighbor, a strapping 30 something was shoveling his driveway. I finally walked over to him, pointed at the storm drain and told him it needed to be cleared. Sorry, just had to pull the \"I\'m a 50+ female pal, could you get a clue?\" card.
hmpf.
I think the squirrels in my yard are vacationing in florida this week. Either that or they are once again living in my garden shed.

SInce I fixed the broken soffet on the house, the squirrls have been exiled to the trees this winter. See them runing around in the yard in between snow storms. I finally got the whole driveway clear only to have another storm due tomorrow 3-5 inches by Friday PM. Oh joy I can start again. Don\'t hurt your back, and pet the cats for me. The are good kitties doing their job. Jane
