Blood sugar record today
Just a brief update on my diabetes status.Today was a good day, I managed to keep my blood sugar under 7,which is almost my goal. Since here in Canada, the normal reading is between 4 - 6. So below 7 is really good in my case. When I was first diagnosed it was at 20. I am positive, that I will manage to reverse this diabetes status. I eat well, exercise, move around all the time now. Before I would get up, go back to bed within hours, then get up, go back to bed for a afternoon nap, then again after supper, I would nap again, now I never take a nap. I am active, and never tired, it's such a great feeling of not being hit by extreme fatigue, like I've been used to for so many years now.Now I can truly appreciate , having concured the dragon.Even if I do blame the treatment for the onset of my diabetes. Many who did this type of chemo treatment, ended up with this disease. But I needed this to get back in shape, God knew it, and gave me this challenge, cause he knew I would take control, like I did when I was diagnosed with hepatitis c. I have joined the Diabetes Message Board here at Daily Strength, and I must admit that I am learning a lot of great information, that I never knew about his disease, even though my father has suffered from it, for many years now. I've been going there pretty steady, since I feel so great, I believe I went more often then I have in a year, thanks to the fact that I feel wonderful, and not tired like I used to be. My father is very interested in everything I report to him, that I am learning about the disease. Not because he doesn't know about it, cause he had many books on the disease, he gave me one, and it's all good info, that will help me to get a reverse status eventually. He is interested in the food I eat, the shakes for diabetes, see he wasn't aware of how many type of foods we can buy now, that are especially made for diabetic people, so I am creating a list for the next time they go shopping, I will go with them and help them choose the right stuff, and explain the quantities needed to satisfy his hunger. I am taking my sugar level, four times a day. Usually a person will take it twice a day, but since I am newly diagnosed, it is good to check it often to see which food puts it up, and if the exercises helps, ect..... Still rainning today, but I've been going up and down, doing some laundry in the basement, and cleared a few boxes from my washroom, since the painting is next, then it will be ready to install the safety bars I bought for my tub, since it is a unusual tub. It is 3 ft deep, almost like a swimming pool when I get in there. So I choose the sturdy safety bars, they were quite a bit more expensive but they will be strong. Then I bought the soap dispenser, toilet paper dispenser, towel bars, all gold, they are very nice. My sink is shape like a big sea shell, it was the biggest sink on a pedestal in the store, and that's the one I choose, since the tub was so big, I couldn't very well choose a little sink Hey? lol As for the toilet, it's still not in, but the old one looks new, so if there is a problem getting the toilet I choose, well I will let it go and keep the one I have. The one I choose flushes itself, as you get up, yes I'm serious, so monday, or whenever the contractors come in I will ask the boss if the toilet is in. The flooring and ceramic on the walls are done, now they are going to do the kitchen floor. I love the ceramic we choose for the kitchen. Then they will need to complete the kitchen cabinets, only the bottom part, the top part is done, the ceramic from the floor will also be used on the wall of the sink, you know at the back, all that wall, then the counter also will be with that ceramic, it will go well with my wooden flooring in my living room, since it is open concept. I can't wait, then I am doing a Wine and Cheese gathering, for my immediate family. So much for my brief update, lol. Have a wonderful week my friends. Mckenzie One day at the time.
