blood pressure is up again//doctor appointment//dinner at k's//camp out

really need to journal daily again, my brain needs the help. lol. having a very angst-filled week. went to the doctor this week and my blood pressure is up. grrrr. i've been having trouble with my medication. he wants me to start taking livalo i think its called for cholesterol. i want to wait and continue with the over the counter cholestoff. won't know until i have blood work done if it helps. with my blood pressure med, if i take the smaller dose at night (have to now) i don't get dizzy, but my pressure is a little high. if i take the regular dose at night, blood pressure is properly low but i'm dizzy. he's trying to tell me its part of old age. this m.d. also doesn't believe in vitamins, though he admits to taking niacin himself and like 14 other pills. he says we are born as-is and need to find the right statins etc. for our bodies. we clash, for sure.
he also wants me to throw out all advil tablets and only buy the gel caps because he says advil tablets will cause your stomach to bleed and take 3 hours to absorb and gel caps take only minutes. never heard any of this before.
went to dinner at k's, almost didn't go because he was ranting on the phone about lowe's not breaking down the wheelbarrow he purchased, so it'd fit in his car. they are supposed to do this. he was so mad he returned it and walked out. i made phonecalls when he called yelling about it and i found two places, target on line and home depot in the store where it comes in three boxes and fits in the car or through the mail and this made him MORE mad. then i find out he's reeling more because he has another cancer on his back, than because of any of what he is YELLING about, so he's just pissed/nervous in general.
k gets skin cancers every year and its from growing up on a lagoon and spending countless hours in the florida sun, its common here. they cut them off generally. no idea what they will do this time. you can also use black salve. the thrashing out at everyone in sight is the kind of stuff that caused the 3 year riff between him and phil (his oldest friendship from youth). phil won't speak to him even now. he says, k was always like this and nowadays phil has high blood pressure and can't risk his pressure spiking because someone else is in bad humor etc. for a doctor, k really has terrible bedside manner, even though he generally will make up for it. i think the cancer stuff scares him because one day, it won't be the kind you cut off and he knows it.
i got to his house late and told him i might not get there at all because of the doctor appointment. i had to go to pick up the kirby vacuum of mine FINALLY, its been on his porch all week for me to come and get it. i almost wasn't going to go in because he was acting so whacko the day before.
ended up he made sausage quiche from scratch and has dinner all prepared and waiting and then i feel guilty for almost being a no-sho.
finally got to sleep outside on my deck, like i love to do. weather is great lately and the deck looks fabulous thanks to the storm and its all swept off. also had some whacko paint part of the frame of the front door. he was at the wrong house, is our guess. grrrr. wth? w says that troy who lived behind him is already harrassing a woman on his street who has pet cats (he took two of them!!) so i need to call peta and get an address. he JUST moved there and is already causing trouble!
met with andrea to treat her cat again and she bought cat food for the strays as an exchange. totally unexpected and i really appreciate it. did my last stop at br's until he leaves again in a few months. he won $800 on a flush on the slot machines and is thrilled. his step son is visiting so will feed the animals. really helps because its so far away! his fence is fixed from the storm, i said to him, didn't you see it on the news, we had 3 days of rain and wind and he says, i'm not worried about THAT FENCE (its a new privacy fence) i'm worried about the derby, because he was afraid it would be rained out and he placed a bet on the derby. lol. he's so addicted. wth? when you place bets in advance you don't get your money back if the race doesn't happen. the world of racing and betting and all its lingo.
we are hiring at work and i'm getting all kinds of whacko applicants from in and out of state, many of whom aren't brokers, no license and their resume isn't even FOR this kind of work. wth? i spoke to gordi's wife because of the situation with their animals and she says her daughter goes through the same thing in jacksonville, where real estate is doing well she claims. they used to do property management but g just had open heart surgery a couple of months ago and has a cow valve or something in there. he sounds okay though. so much crap this week.

The liquigels are easier on your stomach than the regular pills. I can attest to that. It does sound like you should find a doctor who you get along with better. Your BP could be high because you\'re stressed out from having to deal with him! Hope everything else calms down for you! *HUGS*
Advil will kick your stomach, sooner or later, no matter what form you take it in. Gelcap is easier on the tummy, but yes, these kinds of drugs will eat your stomach lining, for sure.
Did you say a stranger painted YOUR front door? LOL..how ridiculous is that?? Goodness. People don\'t know what the heck they\'re doing these days!
The cancer stuff would scare me too. I have a very good friend I used to spend time at the beach with almost every day. She ended up with skin cancer on her nose. They removed it. It scared her so much that she moved to Northern Florida from Ft. Lauderdale (??? still in the sun, right??? ) and never left the house without putting sunblock on. That was 20 years ago...we still had some ozone up there to protect us....not anymore! Be careful out there!!!

thanks for reading. didn\'t expect anyone to read that long rant. yeah, the quiche was excellent. he really is a great cook. i have been taking advil since the 80\'s and back then in high dosage, like 1500 to 2000 because of cramps once per month. i always thought the trick was drinking milk product with the pills?
I never knew that they had Gel cap Advil. I have to melt (?) them in water because I can\'t swallow pill\'s. I guess if you take too much it could be bad for the tummy. But also the disclaimer\'s on Advil tell us that if you drink alcohol.....more than two drink\'s a day....it could be harmful. That\'s why I don\'t read the disclaimer\'s anymore. lol.
