Blindsided Yet Again
This morning, I got up at 5:00 so I could witness the birth of another day. I made a pot of coffee, petted my dogs and went out back with them so we could share the sunrise. I felt wonderful. It felt great to feel like my life was coming back within my control and God's guidance. I read my daily devotionals from Max Lucado & Billy Graham and came here to DS to spend time with my friends and greet new friends that seem to find their way here each day. So I popped into the "If it Ain't Yours" thread because it had been pretty active in the hours before I got up. And there it was.....anger, resentment and excuses. I allowed myself to get sucked into the fray again, and my "male dominant" nature got the best of me and I jumped in head first into the empty pool of pettiness. And I feel like 2 weeks of compassion, fellowship, love, and most importantly, trust, had evaporated in an instant.
I'm not sure what to do with this. It wasn't in my daily devotionals, nor was it on my agenda for the day. Two weeks ago today, I found this place and was immediately given gifts the likes of which I have never received in my whole life. I mentioned yesterday that I felt like God blindsided me when he admonished me to own up to my past and trust in His forgiveness. I wasn't prepared for that, and I then shared that I was afraid to do so. But he worked his magic and answered my prayer, and I went to my bed in a peace I had not felt in a very, very long time.
Well, I got blindsided yet again, and I am very sad, indeed. And I am confused. My sanctuary that is Daily Strength, is not today what it was yesterday. I can only hope that this is temporary. All families argue and fight on occasion. Why not this one? I do not know. What I DO know is that I am not going to try to fix things that I cannot fix. I would have thought I had learned that lesson when I could not "fix" my wife as she lay dying right before my very eyes.
My prayer today is that my dear friends at Daily Strength will forgive me and forgive each other, and that we can resume our journey in peace just like our Lord wants us to. Take 4 minutes out of your busy lives today and watch a man celebrate his faith..........................

hi Joe,
if i am the one to cause dismay in your day, i am certainly beyond sorry. my conversation with you last night brought me great peace. if you feel like talking, just send a message so that it can be a private conversation. i am sorry if my own anger today was misvented, it certainly was not intended to be in your direction.
so now i ask your forgiveness

Joe,
Don\'t be so hard on yourself. There are 40 posts on that thread and you are only 4.(10% lol) This is a distraction but we have to deal with whatever comes our way. I have never been one to take a back seat if I believe in what I want to say. Take a deep breath and relax. This too will pass
Your friend

Joe...I just went on and read the discussion you were talking about and I am beyond confused...so I wouldn\'t let what happen sadden you or feel that you said anything out of place...we are all here to comfort each other and as I see it with the thousands of people that are on DS anyone can join a discussion and try and cause problems...think of it as a very small person that has nothing better in their lives and if this is what gives them amusement ...how sorry I feel for them....the good on this site certainly outweighs the bad by a 1000 to 1. I recently found out if you google your name it will come up with Dailystrength and a post or a journal if you don\'t have your name set for private. The internet is a tricky place and we do need to be careful..hugs Ellen
Joe, I have not yet read the post/thread you are referring to, but I can say in my time here that sometimes, some subjects/topics just send folks over board. I won\'t blame or judge anyone since goodness knows there is always plenty of that to go around. BUT, do not blame yourself. Goodnes gracious: we are all human and have hearts and heads and sometimes we don\'t use them well at all. Dont be hard on yourself - we still love ya!
Susan
I thought you have kept a good level head through all the kerfuffle and were one of the voices of reason. I managed to stay out of the fray but today went and stuck my foot in. I am not feeling very good about that as it really does not help anything. Sometimes this happens online and I wonder if it has to do with how easy it is to miss read things or miscommunicate.
