Blindsided

One would think that after four years, the tears would be finished.  Not so.  I was surprised at my meltdown last night.  It came out of the blue, a TV commercial of all things.  Seeing something so familiar, a wife baking bread for pity sakes!  A flood of memories came back of our first house, my first kitchen that I could call my own, my first experience at baking bread for hubby.  I was thrilled and he fawned over it like I was a professional chef and had just created an amazing recipe unknown to mankind.  I was 18 and didn't know what the heck I was doing.  Suddenly, I ached for those innocent days of our young marriage; of turning around and he was always there to hold me.  I miss him more than words can describe.  Am I happy and contented now?  Yes.  I have the tools to move forward and be content with where I find myself in life, but I sure miss that man of mine!
