Blew it

I left my journal entry "open" on my computer and T had to use it because he couldn't use his at the time. Well, I just started writing in it but didn't even complete the whole thought. What he read was about him and it didn't sound good. I was responding to a message and said that I don't want him to beat the charges. He had a warrant for not following through on an underage drinking charge and it now involves me because I had to post bond and will have to call insurance offices to see if the assessment he has to take will be covered. And because I was pulled into it, I believe it's been a little harder to remove myself from his situation. For this past charge I was able to detach from all his court dates and that was a blessing. That said - he has been doing remarkably well. He is going back to school next week, he has a job, he finally got his temporary license (never had one before) and he his behavior is ten times better than it once was. Our relationship has been very good.
Well, it might not be now. I know he is very upset with me - thinking I'm out to get him. I wanted to talk to him or my husband before they left on the one hour drive to our son's work but there wasn't time. How do I explain myself - saying that I don't want him to beat the charges?  It sounds bad - like I'm out to get him even though on the surface he sees otherwise. I know he won't believe me that I would like him to get help and be sober and that means treatment - not jail.
All I can say is time will tell. I'm sure he's talking to my husband right now about it.  This whole thing brings back some ugly memories when I was working with T's PO (when he was a juvenile) to try and get him into residential treatment and both my husband and him were against it. My husband saw the pain in my son and thought he could wait until he was out of school (he only had two days left). If we did wait - not sure if my husband would have supported the stay or not. I am still don't get that. So here we are again. I know this too shall pass but right now it's good to get it out.

Oh I\'m sorry. But sweetie its ok, it\'s how you feel and that\'s not wrong. When you get the chance sit down with Sam and just let him know how you feel, he is in a good place and he will understand. I know how quickly the feelings come pouring back. It\'s amazing how the feelings are so close to the surface. It will turn out ok I know it will.
