Blessed Today
Today, I preached the message that I posted here on the Christian Church 24/7 DS Group. The river had flooded the area where we normally have Sunrise Service so, we had to cancel this early service this year. We had about 93 in my little country church today. We had our normal order of service and special music and I got ready to preach. I preached the message " 5 Barriers to the Resurrection"! After the service was over, an elderly gentleman from the congregation came to me and said, "if you could have placed on canvas, the picture you painted today of the resurrection, it would have put the Mona Lisa to shame". To me, this was one of the greatest compliments, that I have ever received in my 35 years in the Ministry. I will never forget this old gentleman's words.
I do not preach for the praise of men, I preach for the Glory of God. Being and ex-biker, I am a "different" kind of preacher, I have been told. I am a bit on the rough edge of many "society preachers" but, that's ok. Being imperfect myself, helps me relate to others I guess. I met a preacher one time, that told me he was perfect. I answered him this way. I said "the only man who ever lived, that was perfect, could walk on water and raise the dead so, until you can do at least one of these, I do not put too much faith in your statement, that you are perfect".
I have been blessed beyond measure, even though I deal with depression's cycles in my life, when I am standing and preaching, this is my entire focus and I am happier at this time, than I am any other time, because I am doing what I feel the Lord has called me to do. I am blessed by my congregation and I am blessed by the Lord to have the privilege to be a preacher for Him.

May God continue to bless you and give the works to the people that they need to hear. God Bless your work. Sandi

hmmm, \"rough around the edges\" is exactly how John the Baptist is described in a sense...the forerunner for Christ. You must remember that is what you are also doing...going before our Lord who will return one day and on that day you will hear, \"Well done my good and faithful servant.\" In Christ, dale...brandon\'s mom
I had to laugh over your perfect comment. When one of my kids makes a comment about someone\'s imperfection I ask them if they are perfect. Which usually elicits the response of only Jesus was perfect and an apology usually follows.
i\'ve known for some time that you are a great preacher! and with the counsel you have given me a great pastor too! it takes those who have been through a lot to be best used by God. look at the disciples! they were a ragtag lot! not polished, not professional orators with flowery words, just rough and tumble ordinary people. and then check out Jesus\'s forerunner! John the Baptist!!!! this guys was a wild man (literally) he wore animal skins and ate bugs and wild honey! yet he was chosen to pave the way for the King of Kings and the Lord or Lords!
you are the best in my book!
