Bleeding on 10/20/2009!!! Emergency room visit at

Last night I was sitting on the couch and had just given myself my last suppository for the evening and I felt like something was coming out.  I was not alarmed and immediately went to the bathroom thinking some of the progesterone had come out.  It was not the progesterone....it was BLOOD!!!!!  My DH was over his friends house watching the Yankees so I freaked out!!!  I called him and told him to meet me at the hospital.  The took my vitals, checked for fever, and gave me an ultrasound.  The ultrasound picked up a fetal heartbeat and showed that I was 6 weeks and 3 days, I guess based on the info I gave them.  I am glad they heard the heartbeat, but the bleeding was not a good sign.  There was one baby and one heartbeat.  They did a vaginal examination and saw that my cervix was stilled closed!!!!  Why all the blood and no cramping.  I have no idea.  I told my doctor at the fertility clinic and he told me to come in on Friday so that my mind will be at ease over the weekend.  All day yesterday I had extreme morning sickness....I can not keep any food down.  This morning the same thing.  DH and I got home at about 3:00am.  The bleeding has stopped, but their description of what occurred is a threatened miscarrige.  My hcg level was at 46,000+, but they don't look at that so much at this stage.  The best thing is that they heard a heartbeat.  I don't know what was going on and why I bled, but I hope my baby keeps breathing.   All I could think about was letting my family and friends down who are so excited!!!  Please keep me in your prayers and pray that my baby continues on and this was nothing but a scare.  I can't wait until 10:00am on Friday to get another ultrasound.  I have to stay positive....crying or getting upset is not going to help me or the baby.  My doctor said that now that they have dectected a heartbeat, I should stop taking the baby aspirin.  Everything else I should continue.  I will keep you guys posted.  I am going to rest a little now and try to keep myself hydrated, because food right now is not my friend.  :(  Thank you all for your support as always.  I will check back in later tonight with an update.   I have never been pregnant...never had a threatning misscarriage.  So this is all new to me.  They say many women bleed and go on to have a successful pregnancy.  I pray I am one of those women.  : )   What a night!!

Ginger, ask them if there is a subchorionic bleed found on the U/S. Sometimes that can cause bleeding. I have typed that in many clinic notes and they just keep an eye on things to make sure the bleeding doesn\'t get worse.

Oh my, what a night and horrible scare! I\'m glad that they did detect a hearbeat though. That had to be somewhat relieving! Take it easy and try to stay calm and know Friday is almost here. I\'ll keep you in my prayers! hugs!!!

I am so sorry to hear you had such a terrible scare but am very excited that you got to hear your little one\'s heartbeat! I hope that your little one continues to grow strong and that you rest up. Hopefully your RE will have some insight on what caused the bleeding on Friday and will put your mind at ease.

Kimiowa...my RE mentioned that subchorionic bleed could be it, but the people in the ER did not mention it. I hope they can find out the cause on Friday.

Sissy M and Awaiting...thanks so much for your support and prayers.

Ginger, I actually just got home from the hospital for the same thing (spotting 2 days). Everything is perfectly fine, we have a heartbeat, etc., but it\'s a subchorionic bleed. I was bleeding 2 weeks ago from implantation, so to bleed again really scared me. Hang in there, I understand EXACTLY how you feel!!!!
