Bittersweet

Life sometimes happens that way.  A friend that I have seen off and on since April came into town, and I took him to a few places.  We went to eat at a soul restaurant and then walked to Bourbon St.  While we walked down the street, we passed the hotel, where, I spent my honeymoon.  I metioned it, in passing, but it did bring some saddness.  It happened to be my husband's birthday too.  I told my friend, and he got very upset, and kept saying how sorry he was.  The thing was, I was OK with it, it's been the 3rd birthday that he wasn't here.  I was more upset at a car dealership, that left a message for my husband, wishing him a happy birthday.
I feel I'm moving on, and then things pop up, and I cry.  I went to our old church today.  The pastor that was there when our kids were young, was a visiting preacher for revival.  I saw it in the paper, and just had to go and see him again.  I almost broke down, thinking about the times we had sat there and listened to him, and how much my husband liked him.  I spoke to his wife and then him, asked about their boys and what they were doing.  They were having dinner after church, but I couldn't do it.  I know everyone would be hovering over me, and I just couldn't handle it without crying.
