Bits n Pieces

Feel like I'm starting to really come around healthwise again (lets forget August shall we) & then whamo, I find out thru talking at someone at the gym that there is some sort of flu going around relating to tummy/intestinal type thing.  Major paranoia is now setting in.  Do I become a hermit for abt a month or just go thru my days with an almost OCD approach to staying sanitized so to speak.  Shots for flu are not avail here till end of Oct beginning of Nov & they usually are for the serious flu season which hits right after Christmas, so I seem to remember being told.  Either way I don't think they're affective for this type of thing.  Maybe I'm wrong?????????
Does anyone else with Lupus ever get this scared when something is going around?
Aaahhh, family.  Does anyone ever notice how often life can seem to go all over better with just dear friends around you then family.  I seem to do more head shaking over family members ways & acting & thinking then I ever do with my dear friends especially here on DS.  So many things they say and/or do I wish I could take them out of themselves & make them watch it thru anothers eyes.  I wonder if they'd even be aware of what they actually said and/or did.
I've got one sister that sometimes can be somewhat selfish.  I know her bouts with depression can alter life a lot but even otherwise they are more takers then givers & I never really ask that much of her.  But 90% of the time you can always expect to be dissapointed.  I'm seriously starting to wonder if it's time I start saying more No to their requests but I like to think I'm a bit better then that towards those that I love.   But I'm more & more thinking that I have to stop some jumping for them (I don't always jump as it is thats for sure).  Oh well, family huh.
Hubby is over at his son's today, helping him with his house so I've got the whole place to myself, at least till mid afternoon.  Man does that feel good sometimes.

Kitty, you are not alone when it comes to these flu bugs. I worry all the time. In the fall I do craft shows. So I\'m around 1000\'s of people. I try not to get too close to people if I can and I\'m always washing or wiping my hands with sanitary wipes. It doesn\'t matter whether it\'s a show or the local grocery store. I have a life and I\'m not going to close the door and stay inside. I\'ll just have to take that chance. I will take the flu shot just as long as it isn\'t a live vaccine.

Have a good day. Love and hugs Nance

I do hope you have a better month than last month. Not sure about that new flu bug have not heard anything about it yet. gee always some thing to worry about isn\'t there? Pat as far as doing things for family or friends I have some advice that might make you feel a little better about it. I was told by my brother when we are asked to do things for others just t remember what ever we do Jesus is the one who will reward us we are not to look to man for any thanks.. What we do is store our rewards in heaven and our heavenly father wlil reward us. hard to do but helps me when I don\'t want to do things LOL . Glad to see you wrote a journal Love to know all about you. Have a happy day and a blessed weekend. Love you always, frieda xxxoxoxo

You know, funny you would ask this, because I was just telling hubby that I need to get to the nursing home once or twice before flu/cold season sets in b/c I got pneumonia there from fil (first time with pneumonia ever) and it really caused lots of issues with my lungs that I never had before! So, I do think we have to be careful. WE can\'t become hermits, but we have to be more careful than most. I do try to avoid the nursing home during the cold months entirely.

Yes, ah, family. I think most people would agree with you there. I guess I try to accommodate them, but also, if I think a request is selfish, I try to twist it to be more of a win-win for everyone ... like to say \"well I can\'t go on that day, but how about we all go next week and do _____________.\" Sometimes that helps neutralize things a bit. Go with your instinct, I doubt it would ever be wrong! xoxo, m
