Biting off more than I can chew... what else is new, lol...

Well, this is certainly turning into an "interesting" week, lol.

Sunday, I had another problem with my creepy neighbor.   Things were going VERY well, ignoring him worked, the dogs and I could play and I could work on my garden.   But over the past week, he'd lurk.   If I went out to water the lawn, HE went out to water the lawn.... if I mowed, HE went out to mow.   So Sunday was the first day I could get the lawn work done last week.   A friend had called, asked if I can watch their dog for a few hours because he (the coach) and their kids (the players) had a championship soccer match and they didn't know how long it would take.... I LOVE dogs, so I said sure!  So as I was mowing the lawn, dogs playing around me, HE comes out to mow his... notices that I have another dog in the yard.... he goes into his garage, starts yelling to himself about how I HAD ANOTHER DOG!   Gees (rolling my eyes).

So I got done, went into the house... Bear (my dog) is wearing his shock collar, and it's working.   All the other dogs followed me inside, but Bear spent 2 hours sitting at the back fence, watching the neighbors, not barking once.   Creepy neighbor then comes around his shed, SCARES my dog, my dog barks, he starts swearing, my dog barks more because he's threatened, getting zapped, feeling the aggression.... so I RACE out there to call my dog in.... as we go into the house, Creepy neighbor starts yelling obscenties at me.   THAT'S IT!

And this may be a coincidence, but Sunday night at 12:30, something freaked out the dogs while I was sleeping and it woke me up.   I couldn't see anything or anyone, but we've got cats all over our neighborhood and they don't bark at them....

So yesterday morning while on the computer, I asked my friends on Facebook when was the right time to get a restraining order.... my friends said NOW.   So I went down to the police department, told them what was going on, they said I COULD get one right away, but they'd be happy to talk to him first about it.   Damn, I was SCARED.   What if it made things worse.... so I thought about it for a minute, decided that I have everything I need if it does get worse (cell phone, camera that does video and sound), so I said yes, let's start with the talking, and if it gets worse, THEN I'll get the order because I'll be able to provide proof.

Several hours later, the police called me... they told me that he admitted to the stalking (photos, etc), tried making up bull about the dog incident, but they told him that if there was any other issue that he would be arrested.   AND then the animal patrol officer (who admitted she was a friend of creepy neighbor) started lecturing me about not being able to run a business out of my house.... at the time, I didn't think anything of it - she was talking about running a full boarding facility, which I'm not, BUT LATER, I started thinking... wait a minute.... if what she says is true, then I'm not allowed to run the business I AM licensed for out of my house!  WTH.  And I've done more checking... State law says I can have 5 dogs of my own.... my friend's dogs aren't mine... they have to be licensed... they are... I have to control the nuisance.... no problem, we'll stay in the back corner or side of the house (a narrow strip) or go to the dog park 2 blocks away.   And there's NOTHING that says I can't dog sit.   AND I told the police that I'm going to be watching another friend's boxers while they are in Vegas for a week - no problem.

And the neighbor?   When I got home from work yesterday, I heard his garage door SLAM.... and then silence.... no following me around.... no swearing at me...

But now here's the "problem" I do have.... my best friend just called - has to leave Friday on an emergency trip for a week and needs me to watch her crazy weimereiner - when I have the boxers coming and she only calls me as a last resort.  Man, I'm REALLY gonna have to juggle this one....  Well, I guess the good side is I AM gonna get lots of exercise walking dogs all over the neighborhood.   And the drama continues, lol.... LATER!

You did good but just know this may excalate. Give him a couple of weeks and he will get brave and try something else. Just be careful.

Please be careful. This guy sounds like my boss\'s neighbour, and they both seriously sound like they have a screw loose.
I hope that your getting the police out there to give him a warning is sufficient of a scare for him. Good luck!!

I love how you look on the bright side of things! Such as walking the dogs around the neighborhood. Good luck and be careful. I think you did the right thing on contacting the police...

Whenever I hear something like this it makes me SOOO GLAD that I own my 7 acres of paradise out here in the boonies -- no one can SEE or HEAR my business and I sure have grown accustomed to that.
