Birthdays and Anniversaries
Yesterday was my stepdad's birthday. I got him a new cordless phone set since his was dying. Tomorrow is my sister's birthday. I don't know if she will respond, since she is still wary of my relationship with my stepdad (major drama from the past). I miss talking to her. She keeps in touch with my mom's side of the family and I keep in touch with my dad's side of the family. I don't like calling my stepmom since all she does is ask me about bibles and church and all that. My little brother goes over to my sister's house on Sunday nights to watch The Walking Dead. They are really close, and I wish I had a better relationship with my little brother. I text my brother occasionally, but he rarely replies. I call my Aunt Teddy a couple of times a week and my Aunt Lucille almost every day now. Sunday is the 19th anniversary of my dad's suicide and I want to go to the beach and fish since my dad loved it so much. I just have to get Geo to come with me. We are probably going to have to rent fishing poles and get worms. but I don't mind. October is going to be an expensive month since it's Geo's birthday on Halloween and all the overdrafts I've had are taking all my money. I have money set aside for his present, but I might just cook him steaks for his birthday instead of going out. We will see how that goes.

Nice journal. Going fishing would be a nice way to feel close to your Dad. I hope you get to do that.
How thoughtful of you to get your stepdad a phone. You have a lot of October birthdays in your family it sounds like. I hope you get to go fishing in remembrance of your Dad. I\'m so sorry you lost him. I lost my Dad when I was sixteen. Have a wonderful week-end, whatever you are.

I sure hope you get to go fishing that is such a nice way to remember your dad. My moms birthday would have been August 21st but we didn\'t do anything to remember except me being very sad that day... I think next year I will try to do something positive and fun to remember her she would have wanted it that way.
Staying in touch with family is a difficult thing for me too. I have two step brothers and a step sister but I don\'t have any contact with any of them.. I didn\'t have any birth siblings so its not easy. I have one Aunt that I stay in contact with and my dad.
Steak birthday dinner for Geos birthday sounds very cool!!! Maybe decorate the apartment with cheap crape paper its only around a dollar.... sometimes its even more fun to celebrate at home I think. We did that with our kids when they was growing up because we couldn\'t afford to go out to dinner we let them celebrate their special day by picking what they wanted me to make for dinner and pick what kind of cake they wanted me to bake. None of the kids ever complained about it so I don\'t think it bothered them. Pinterest always has some cool ideas for homemade cakes for birthdays. Just some ideas.
