birds eye view
Standing on the cliff's edgeWind blowing through my hairI shut my eyes and relaxI see myself letting go I fall forward off the cliffI soar over the treesI'm not falling, I'm flyingI finally feel free An Eagle comes beside meHe joins me on my flightHe asks me how I like Soaring up so high He takes me to a beautiful placeWith hills, flowers, and treesAnimals roam free hereThey seem to have perfect lives Next he shows me a rushing waterfallThe sun hits the water and reflectsRays of color shoot out over the nearby fieldThe grass seems to take in the color as it shines Then the Eagle looks at me and saysNext is the part that will haunt youHe takes me to his homeAnd I spot a tear in his eye I look down and seeThe truth I wish he never sharedThis place is dark and grayThe air makes me cough I look but I can't see farThe air is thick and foggyI swoop down and seeBuildings rising high into the sky I see machines tearing down treesAnimals running from fearThey look for food, they are hit by carsAnimals are shot for sport and desire I see small kids playing nearbyI start to smile; maybe it's not all badThen a car goes flying byI hear a loud boom A kid falls to the groundRed liquid flows down the streetStaining the pavementA tear appears in my eye I look at the EagleI beg himNot to make me watch anymoreBut he says I must see He leads me to a parkWhere small kids playOne child gets grabbed She is dragged off We follow, the Eagle and IThey take her to the woodsShe's crying but no one caresThey beat and rape her They leave her and runLaughing and giving high fivesI feel sick and want to helpThe Eagle stops me He takes me to the schoolsKids smoke and do drugsHave sex in the closetsOne kid brings a gun and kills many others He takes me to the churchEveryone judges one anotherSpreading gossip and liesKids hurting one another with words He takes me to the government buildingsCorrupted people everywhereMaking sure things go the way they wantThrowing innocent people in jail I beg him to stopI can't take anymoreBut he says one more stop He shows me the war Young, handsome men in uniforms with gunsMarch toward one another in angerThey shoot without careMen fall one by one in a river of blood The Eagle says okayNow you've seen enoughGo make the world betterShow all of them God's love I say I'm too smallI can't reach them allHe says I can tryTo reach at least one
