bike week is all over florida this week! grrrr//new restaurant with j//outreach sale

"If you get less than 4 hours sleep, there's a good chance that you'll wake up in slow-wave sleep, which can leave you disoriented, irrational and extremely irritable..."
"Is no sleep at all, better?  ... our bodies are pretty resilient and can function reasonably well without sleep once in a while, so you'll be able to chug through the day even if your mind will be a little fuzzy (this means catching a plane wouldn't be a problem, but driving a car would).  Then after dinner, go to sleep early and sleep a little longer than normal."
You decide.

this year bikers are in northeast florida from MELBOURNE TO JACKSONVILLE.  wth?  its bike week this week and the signs are up, "you're back, we're glad"  ... hmmm who is glad?   there are venders and motorcycles EVERYWHERE.  events are fun for the concerts when they have good bands, but that would be it.  how many crafters and fried food venders does anyone need to see?  i can do that at church on a smaller scale and the money goes to good causes.  the noise and traffic and the total disruption of one's life from the events sucks.  its EVERYWHERE in the passed couple of years.  its not contained at all.  one day the entire state of florida will be motorcycle full or antique car full from people all over north america for the events.  lol.
down south we used to have 3 months of spring break and of course snow birds to deal with each year.  when young this translates into participating in 3 straight months of spring break partying YEARLY, if you live there.  lol.  and the solution to snowbirds, you work a LOT when they are visiting, and for seasonal working people (i'm not one) but for them, that is the time of year when there is more work in general and they may make enough money for the entire year.
up here, there is nowhere to hide.  south florida used to close up pretty much in april/may through to october.   FIVE MONTHS (yay!) was for the locals.  the bars, clubs and restaurants would put up signs.  they are gone.  special deals for locals.  welcome back.  stuff like that.  all the snowbirds headed north and the south became almost a ghost town.  yay!  peace and serenity.  it was great.  here, everything is year round.  the summer here is mobbed, just like the shore areas are up north in the summer.  grrrr.  even up north i prefer off season months like september and early october at the ocean.  yay!
its a sunny perfect day, but like, lets go hide now.  lol.  saw skny today.  big surprise because he is never around.  ten years ago, i used to think he was so good looking.  he still is, but all of us are ten years older and attached and all that.  basically were ten years ago too, but everyone still did the on and off thing back then, which lets you have other things going on in between.  amazing we all got away with living like that for as long as we did.  lol.  nowadays any hint of drama is a turn off.
went to one of those "well known restaurant" places with j for steak and eggs.  still doesn't beat out the mom and pop place.  amazing.  lol.  there is also a special going on for lobster for $7.  k just called that one in.  i don't even like driving when there are so many tourists all over the place.
we are having really nice weather.  went to the marina with the girls yesterday, it stayed in the 60's even in the evening.  wow!  the weather didn't say it would do that.  went to a big sale from one of the outreaches and found sooo many things, they actually had t-shirts for men for five for a dollar.  they said they have so much stuff, it was either mark it way down or throw it out.  too much stuff!  also found two cashmeres and a worsted wool liz shirt with the tags still on it.  love it.  lol.  why do people shop in malls?  this scavenger hunt kind of shopping is actually more fun and sooo much less.  its like the auctions.  makes you not respect retail or material things in general, at all.  when actress daryl hannah used to go public about shopping in places like this i used to think she was nuts.  now i agree with her.  its the only kind of store where patrons and salespeople leave you alone as you shop.  just peace and serenity and fun deals and lots of different kinds of things all in one place.

I too love to scavenger hunt for items. This is more fun then any chain store or mall. At the moment, I seem to be into the farmer\'s stands and getting lots of fresh fruits and veggies. Enjoy. Weather is perfect down here too. I see groups of biker\'s on the roads.

Sleep. I love sleep when I get enough. I love sleep when occasionally I get more than enough.
