Bike riding
So today I decided that I'd skip the gym and come home and dust off my bike instead. Ok, so I didn't dust it off, I had my BF do it before I got home. LOL He made sure there was air in the tires, and I asked him to take off the big wide seat that I'd bought special for my giant ass 8 months ago, and to replace it with the original seat that the bike came with, so that when I got home I was ready to rock and roll.
Last August I couldn't get half a block before I was dying and ready to turn around and come home. But thanks to my dedication to getting my cardio on the elliptical, treadmill and stationary bike, going to the gym 3-4x a week, I was able to go for 3 miles before threat of a storm made me turn around and go home. I was tired at that point, but I could have gone a little longer. Probably not much more, but a little!
Riding a real bike outside is much harder than riding a bike in the gym. I can't watch my movies on my iPod for one thing! lol I hope to do this more often, build up my endurance, and take on the Cross Seminole and Seminole Wekiva trails here in Florida. Personally I feel like I've gotten a better workout if I have a good sweat, and I definitely got a good one riding my bike. And it wasn't so bad with the wind in my face, I felt so free and so good, and so proud of where I am right now.
I wore fitted workout clothes and was unashamed as I rode around my neighborhood. I can't wait to get out there and do it some more!
