Big Decision.....switching to a different OB
So tomorrow marks 9 weeks! Feeling beyond blessed, even if all I want to do all day, everyday is puke!! Friday I finally caved and got an anti nausea medication to take the edge off. It helps... Sometimes at least, but has made me SO constipated... Arghhh :-(. I have also been experiencing insomnia at night. This makes keeping up with my little guy tough, and thankfully he is just the most amazing little thing and is making it easy on his momma!
Yesterday while I was awake at 2 am I couldn't shake the feeling that I need to switch to a new OB. My current OB was recommended by a friend, but his office is 40 minutes from our home. I also have noticed that he seems totally disconnected from me. After 7 years of IF, I need a warm and fuzzy doctor, or at least someone who maintains eye contact with me! I called a new OB yesterday and heard back from her nurse today. Before she will accept me as a new patient she needs to look over my records and then she will let me know. This is fine, but the crappy thing is, she is gone all week for the 4th of July, so I won't hear back until the following week. This means I need to go to my next appointment with my current OB on the 10th. Kind of nervous about going and them knowing that I requested my records be sent to the other doctor. I know it is my choice, but I am not a confrontational person, and would simply like to slip over to the new OB without having to explain myself. The new doctor has an office in our town, plus another office that is about 25 minutes from home. I am pretty confident this is a good switch for me, but I need to get through these next two awkward weeks...

Yes you need an awesome OB. It makes such a difference in your whole experience. I can see why you would feel awkward but there seems to be a lot of good reasons besides poor bedside manner for you looking into a new OB.
Oh and Zofran has been my BFF this pregnancy! Just FYI you can take 2 at a time if you need it. When Im really bad, I will pop two in and its quickly gone.
Just tell him you decided a closer office is what you need. I wouldn\'t eleborate. Good luck finding a new one you like. I\'m meeting my OB tomorrow for the first time. Nervous!
Zofran will make the constipation worse. I opted out of it for that reason because I am so constipated already. My RE has me taking colace in the morning and at night...it really helps with the constipation.
Yea, I wasn\'t constipated until I started the Zofran, but I barely could function today, with the Zofran, meaning without it I would have really been sick. I just really hope that in the next few weeks things will get better.
Also, new OB\'s office called back this afternoon, and she got my records already. She looked them over and is willing to take me! Yeah! Really impressed because the nurse initially told me I wouldn\'t hear back until the week after 4th of July. Glad things all hot taken care of today already. My next appointment is on the 10th with old OB, and then I have my next appointment on the 26, which will be the beginning of my second trimester! Yea!!
