Big Decision in a Tough Time

My husband and I are making the decision of whether or not to adopt our infant nephew today. This would be our first child. CPS has already done their part and we have passed. Now is the hard part for us.

Our recovery is going well and we are strong. I am doing very well with not lying. So I think that we are good there although certainly not finished with the process.

However, honestly I am scared. I always wanted to be a mom, and I am great with kids and had my sister for a while when my mom was sick, so I know that I can do it...  We even had our older nephew off and on when he was small, so my husband and I know that we are a good team... but when my uterus failed me four times, I got used to the idea of not having a child and I am very happy with my life and our current plans for the future. Now, the thought of a child is overwhelming because it means completely changing, or reverting, my life's path.

I know that this is not the primary purpose of this forum, but if anyone has any ideas or thoughts please let me know.

Have you all made a decision? I wish I could help you and give you advice, but I am childless on purpose so I do not feel qualified

We decided to remain that way. We will just enjoy each other.
