Big and Emotional
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas...I certainly did:) However, Christmas Eve was a little emotional for me. All day long I was uncomfortable. DH and I had to do some last minute shopping since I had not done anything - he had done all the shopping up to that point. So, after leaving the mall and having to pee really bad, the traffic was horrible, I just broke down. I seemed to have become really irritated w/ him since he, in my opinion, took the long way and it took us 30 minutes to get home, which was normally a 10 min. journey back to our house. He wanted to know an exact reason why I was crying but I had none. I was so mean to him but I could not control my emotions. WE then went to my parents and I broke down on my mom's shoulder like a little girl....I know Kirk was saying to himself "WTF"!!! Anyway, mom explained my behavior is perfectly normal getting close to the end. I hope she is right (ummmm sure DH is too) because I can't stand all this crying. I should be rejoycing!!!! The rest of the weekend has been good. We went to the movies last night and say "It's Complicated" and I almost pee'ed in my pants from laughing so hard:) I can't believe in only a couple of weeks, I will get to meet Holden!!!! I'm scarced, nervous, and excited all at the same time. Nursery is pretty much complete-FINALLY-and all his clothes are washed. I go to the doc on Tuesday and he will check my cervix to see if anything is going on down there. I have not had any Braxton Hicks contractions throughout this pregnancy but am very uncomfortable in any position these days. Happy New Years to all - I pray for each and every one of you that 2010 is the best year yet and all are blessed! xoxo,Shannon

Shannon, hang in there! Holden will be here before you know it. :) This is such an exciting time, but the emotions are completely normal. Just think of all your body has been through; not just these past 9 months but with infertility too. You have been so brave and amazing through it all. You are finally near the finish line. Hang in there mommy. :)

I am glad you had a nice Christmas aside from the breakdown. It is my understanding that being that emotional at the end of a pregnancy is normal. Once again there is a lot going on. The baby is suddenly putting on all their weight, which means you are too and getting more and more uncomfortable. They are also preparing to come into the world. Aside from the physical parts of being pregnant causing emotions to run a muck, you are also getting ready to have this little, tiny child come into your life. That is huge! Of course you are going to be nervous and scared. This is your first child and the entire process is new. Being scared and crying does not mean you are no thrilled at the same time. Have you ever gone on a roller coaster? You know that feeling when you are climbing the big hill and just starting to go down the other side? You are scared yet excited and having a blast all at once! Well that is small scale compared to what you are going through. I am sure Kirk will be okay. He should expect your emotions to be all over the place for the next few months. Some husband\'s just don\'t know what to do or how to respond. I am so happy that you will be starting the new year with the birth of your sweet Holden. I will be saying extra prayers for you all every day! :-)
I sooooo understand. I am only 25 weeks and I cry often for little or no reason. I can also go from nice to bitchy in 5 seconds. It feels nice to know we are not alone. The constand uncomfortableness is hard to explain to people. Please know that you are in my thoughts. I wish you some comfort!!!!
I can totally relate!! I havent really been emotional, but I can totally relate to the big and heavy part. Its the home stretch for us, and it\'s SO uncomfortable. All I can think of is of having my little boy in my arms and looking at it\'s little face and finally knowing what color his eyes are going to be! That\'s what keeps me going...
We\'re almost there!! So dont give up!!
Hugs!
I think Shannon it will not be long before we get to hear your birth story!! For about a week leading up to having Xavier I wad SO irritable and grumpy! Poor DH!! Anyway turns out it is all part of pre-labour and sure enough at 38 weeks he was in my arms. Try and rest up, relax and take good care of yourself xo.
You are so lucky to have made it this far. I\'m sure you think back on the past few months and before you became pregnant. I sure do. I sometimes wonder \"Is this real?\" I understand that you are uncomfortable, but hold on, it will soon be over and WORTH it!
Best wishes to you!
I totall understand the emotional breakdowns I have them too. Sometimes for no reason sometimes for silly reasons. Its hard you have a lot of hormones running through you and being uncomfortable so long takes its toll. I am glad you are feeling better now. I find heating pads are great and also a pregnancy boppy pillow helps alot in bed with support.
Hang in there, he will be here so soon. It will all be worth it!
Good luck, Shannon! I just had my little guy on Christmas morning. You will do great : )
Congratulations!!!!I haven\'t been on DS in a long time.....I do remember being emotional at the end.....it is very hard to be that pregnant girl. You are nearing the end and you will be holding him soon.
