bicycling and...maggots
how I spent july 4th holiday: bicycled 4 miles, total, in rain...and dragged about 2 dozen garbage bags to the sidewalk---with some maggots on the bags.
When I started my bike ride to walmart, at 455 this morning, I was worried about being stuck in a thunderstorm somewhere, though it was only drizzly out. When I biked home, in more rain, I was actually enjoying myself....the sound of the rain, no cars, and sense of accomplishment of getting stuff I needed.
Then, once home, to take bags of roofing shingles to sidewalk---to find maggots on # of the bags, from dumb me putting some food cans in with the shingles, in 90 degree weather. Thank god for the rain----I dragged the bags across muddy stones from the back yard to the sidewalk.
What a dirty job, picking up roofing shingles, AND tonight around 3 in morning waiting for garbage truck, AND spending at least ten dollars of my own money to bribe garbage men to take away all the bags of my landlord's junk, so I don't have to look at it.
A week prior, I mentioned the $15 dollar new minimum wage that started out west, with my landlord all for it, with me not so----with dumb me doing all this for FREE, cause landlord helped me with my sick cat in January....though this is about a one hundred dollar job, at $15 dollars an hour.
Bought a fifty cent hot dog and three dollars of icecream at grocery story on next street a few minutes ago; gonna eat the hot dog for some energy, and then finish dragging the bags with maggots on them to the sidewalk, for July 4th at around 8 in morning.

Well you will be a lot happier when it is done. Would have been nice to get some pay for your trouble.
my landlord seemed disappointed that I wouldn\'t clean up roofing shingles in empty adjacent yard---with me very sincerely saying I was worried of fleas and ticks from high weeds there, with his response of how he\'d trim the weeds for me.
Yes, now that it is done, I can laugh about it----till the other tenant in building complains about me having put the 2 dozen bags where she normally puts her garbage;)
