Recently read online that the WORST Christmas gift is the ubiquitous fruitcake!
Nobody really wants one, so if you are receiving a fruitcake from someone, be aware that they are probably just PASSING ON to you a fruitcake THEY received and don't want.
In fact, scientists have now confirmed there is only ONE fruitcake in existence. It has been passed from one person to another since the beginning of time.
Makes you wonder: HOW OLD IS THAT CAKE??

My grandfather kept one in the freezer and would periodically pour rum on it throughout the year, then we would eat it next Christmas. Tasted pretty good to me, LOL!

a british wedding cake is a fruitcake, but i think the fruit is mashed and blended in. i have princess diana\'s wedding cake recipe on one of my recent journals with photo, to try, but haven\'t done it yet. xxoo
