Beta #2 Kinda Disappointing
Second beta today was 153, first was 101. It didn't double and now I'm concerned. RE said all numbers are rising and isn't worried and to come back next Tuesday. WTF.....wait an entire week!? I am going in on Thursday instead for another beta. Please pray it rises! I'm soooo worried. This was our LAST try; our last FET. We have no more totsicles and no more insurance to do another ER. And here I thought the 2ww was torture....OMG all of this waiting is just so hard and I know stress is not good but its such a challenge to be relaxed right now. Aarrgh....

Hang in there. I feel your anxiety, but try to relax. Listen to calming music. I\'m in my forties, years of ivf failures, a loss last year and now I\'m preggo. So I understand what you\'re saying. This is our last shot too. Try not to over think everything. Like others have said, as long as it\'s rising, it\'s a good sign. Keep asking the docs questions, and I\'m glad you\'re going back on Thurs. for another blood test. Next week is too long to wait. Big hugs.
Wait- how long are you expecting it to double over / when was beta #1? I read that 72 hours to double early on is normal... Ugh. Sometimes I wish that we didn\'t know so much. Your doctor is reassured and optimistic so I think we should be too. The power of positive thinking. Take good care of yourself and try to make the clock go faster....
I went back to my journals for this. My beta\'s have always had two days between them ie. Beta #1 on a Friday Beta#2 on a Monday and they\'ve come back a bit more than double. You only had one day and the doubling time can be up to 72 hours. Also, I\'ve heard boy\'s betas rise slower than girls. So stay calm and don\'t panic until your RE seems concerned. Also, the time is a factor - you should always test at the same time. I know its hard but try to remain calm!
Thank you all. I thought it should double 48 hours later and it\'s been 48 hours since my 1st beta. Going to try not to worry, but knowing this was our last try and my age and miscarriage rates makes this so much harder I think! And Kelly, you are so right, knowing so much stinks sometimes...damn you google! Aboveda, thanks for the tips!!!
Another thing that my RE says is that sometimes a previously frozen embie can be a bit putsy in getting started... because of being frozen. Try not to worry, nothing you can do but enjoy this moment :)
Fingers are crossed, and it\'s climbing so hang in there. If it was falling that would be cause for alarm but your clinic is telling you not to worry so try not to.
Rising is good and hopefully by Thursday you will see it doubling! Your RE is not alarmed so that is a good thing! I am glad you will have another beta Thursday, waiting a week would be torture!

It just needs to double every 72 hours. My clinic did my first beta on a Wednesday morning and my second on a Friday morning. They like to see them double in that time frame but if they don\'t they just wait and see. Mine didn\'t double in that time and I have triplets. I also was so worried! I left to go out of town after the call with the second beta numbers and that was all I could think about all weekend. It was torture! I\'m sure your little bean is growing in there just fine. Oh and the waiting and worrying never stops lol... Next it will be the ultrasound, then the heartbeat, then the growth, then wondering if you\'ll have an incompetent cervix or preterm labor.... And then they\'re born and a whole new set of worries and waiting arrive :) Congrats on your pregnancy! Now go take it easy and relax :)

The number went up and that\'s all that really matters. I\'m glad you\'ll be able to go for a beta tomorrow. Waiting a hole week would have been crazy.
