After a few days of exploring Taipei, it’s time to head south to Taichung, Taiwan’s second-largest city. Taichung is busy and colourful and was a surprise hit in our Taiwan itinerary! There are lots of things to do Taichung and it is also the gateway for the immensely popular Sun Moon Lake, one of Taiwan’s most popular tourist attractions. Yes, Taitung City is known for its high-quality tea and coffee products that make for excellent gifts.
Beinan Cultural Park – This site contains the ruins of an ancient aboriginal village, with exhibits and reconstructions of the village and its way of life. Be prepared to be amazed by the stunning coral formations and the diverse range of sea creatures that call this area home. Snorkeling or diving in the coral reefs is the perfect way to get up close and personal with the underwater world of Taitung.
The takoyaki consists of fish ball, shrimp, broccoli, mushroom, and chopped octopus. If you’re not yet hungry, you can play pinball or try out the balloon shooting games. Cooked food was really good but much of raw fish in dishes was still frozen. The restaurant apparently experiences shortages of soy sauce- it was strictly rationed and we had to constantly remind stuff to give us some more.

But this hotel does not offer breakfast at club lounge. If you want to have breakfast, you can’t get welcome gift and the breakfast only for 2. Second, this hotel is a 5 stars hotel, but it surprised me that the lobby is stinky especially when standing closer to the lobby bathroom. There is no actual bathroom in the room, it use a curtain to separate the shower area and a matte glass door for the toilet area.
