Bens yard work

Weekends for me are so hard.. Saturdays would start out with me saying to Ben's sister"Wonder when your brother is going to wake up and get his yard work done?" We would laugh and say noon. He was always so tired on Saturday mornings. Going to college and working full time. Yard work consisted of mowing two small yards. Took a whole 10 minutes.. but it was his chore from the time he was 10. An of course he needed to take care of the doggie do. Now it's hard for me to see the grass growing so fast in the spring. Everytime I am trimming my roses or pulling weeds I am pictureing Ben pusing that mower and playing with his dog. Funny how things like smelling fresh cut grass can hurt......................

So many things trigger those memories. I hope that you can enjoy the weekends once again in the near future. I read a book that says \"go to the source\". Ask your child how he would want you to live. The answer is simple. \"Be happy\" I trying so hard to do just that. I hope you can too. Thinking of you. Love Robin

Memories are funny things. What you thought you\'d remember you don\'t. but the little things, now they are so important. Try to remember him doing it , rather than the fact he won\'t anymore. Hold tight to those good memories. love and hugs Cathy

I agree with Robin and Cathy...the things that trigger memories! Hopefully one day those memories will make us smile instead of cry....love and hugs...Karen

Spring has brought mixed feelings. Sorrow every single time I see a motorcycle. Relief that it\'s not so cold anymore. And for you the grass growing...saddness. What a painful path we walk. None of us was prepared to be here, but here we are none the less. Glad we have each other here. Sending you love and hugs and understanding, Cyn

I use to ask the same question of Erick\'s sister... he loved his sleep especially on weekends. We have those moments where we find ourselves doing or being somewhere that seems empty without them also there. I still can picture my son doing those things he loved and I miss! Hugging you for comfort and support, Vera~Erick\'s mom

I look at the tree in my backyard and remember Tony trimmed it last. Karen is right ...it is just one of those things that trigger memories.
