Belize
Airfares from LAX to Belize bounced up and down but since I was flexible I finally found the fare I like. Leaving this Mon and return Jan 25th. Checking out houses and condos again...maybe buy something if it's cheap. Then, winters down there and summers in SoCalif. Life's good.
Staying in the apt of a friend there in Placencia. Small fishing village on a 16mi long, 1/2 mi wide peninsula with sea on one side and lagoon on other. Great people - locals and expats. Pretty excited but bit apprehensive. Daughter is OK with it, she says, but we both know it'll be hard since it's over holidays which is always tough on us both. She may come down Xmas week but good fares are hard to find...duhhh... holiday.
Lots to pack. Being HSP I fret that I will forget something. Yeh, should make list but I don't. Haa. Friend wants me to bring a small TV so I have a suitcase that is old anyhow and will just leave it there. 2 bags checked free.
Back is feeling OK...still some aches when moving certain ways but lots better than ever before. Hope the procedure lasts 6-9 mo as they say it might.
Treating myself to Business Class again on Taca Airlines. Great planes and people and their BC fares isn't much more than econ. Worth it for comfort, meals, drinks, service and able to sleep.
Another reason to make me realize I'm blessed.
