Being Stupid & Other News

Another day, another put-down. Basically, this:
me:  I have another webinar I'm going to be watching.
him:  Webinars are stupid!
me:  I don't think so...
him:  (grumble, grumble)
I mean: I don't put him down when he's listened to his cassette tapes about photography. I wouldn't dream of saying such a thing when it comes to pursuing his interests; I can't even bring myself to it. So, WTF?
The only thing I can think of is that: since I've stopped "taking on" his problems (trying to encourage him out of lack of motivation, doing everything I can to "free him up" to do what he really wants), it seems that he's "putting" his problems on me; in other words, putting me down so he doesn't feel so bad about himself (because really, that seems to be his core problem).
And I could go on & analyze, ruminate, etc. But that's not doing me any good. It's not helping me "let go". I'm angry & I hate having anger stewing inside me. Another thing that isn't helping is arguing back; I shouldn't have to defend. As soon as he makes another "stupid" comment, I just need to tell him to stop. No more dancing around, because I only end up frustrated.
So there; that's my vent. It's out of my system.
Sad about what happened in Boston. It's my favorite city. Fortunately, it looks like no one I know was hurt or anything. I just hate that there's people who do things like that.
The kids are on spring break this week. The nice thing is that I get to sleep in an hour later because I don't have to bring anyone anywhere! Work has been very, very quiet this week; half the department is on vacation.
I'm still dealing with some after-effects of being sick, but slowly slowly they're going away. I was actually able to sing my full range in church on Sunday, so that's a good sign. And I'm back into my exercise and walking routines again.
