Youth from foster care in BCFS-McAllen’s Preparation for Adult Living program joined youth from a variety of boot camp programs to hear Aida Rodriguez’s hopeful message. BCFS HHS-Kerrville Director, Dennis Ferguson visits with Hill Country Caring Crafter to provide some update on programs offered within the community. TMPA regained our position as the largest law enforcement association in Texas, a position we had not held since the 1980s. In response to legislative attacks on pensions, TMPA became a founding member of the Texas Law Enforcement Council which unites law enforcement labor groups to work together and further common goals and interest.

From 1990 until 2006, he directed an ecological restoration program at Lower Rio Grande Valley NWR. Since 2006 Chris has served as State Botanist for U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Texas, where he is dedicated to the conservation of rare plants and their habitats. BCFS Education Services is working closely with the previous provider and federal Office of Head Start to ensure an easy and seamless transition for children, families and community partners. BCFS Education Services will provide full-day preschool for 450 children, ages 3-5, in its first year, and 467 children in subsequent years. The full-day classroom model is part of a national movement led by the Office of Head Start aimed at bolstering school readiness for children gearing up for kindergarten.

The mission of TMPA is to promote professionalism in law enforcement through education and representation. While TMPA was founded by municipal police officers, our membership has grown to include all Texas law enforcement officers. In addition, anyone who works in a law enforcement agency in Texas or is under the direction of a chief administrator or elected official who holds a TCOLE peace officer’s license can join.
