Beginning the Journey to Remission

I was only diagnosed about a Month ago with Graves disease... I really dislike that word ... "disease"... I never thought I would be using THAT word in relation to myself EVER. I am going to do it though... I am GOING to go into Remission. I will not be undergoing RAI or invasive surgery. I WILL be able to improve my situation with nutrition, exercise, and emotional well-being. It will be tuff, I know it. I have some hurdles ahead that could knock me off course, but I am going to persevere.
Today I went to the gym for the first time in months! Initially I had been away from the gym because of moving, etc., and then settling in, then the holidays... and then it was because I felt AWFUL! After diagnosis I came to understand why I felt so weak - because my metabolism was raging through my body and burning up everything I took in, and then all my muscle! Brutal. So I took it really easy, very light weight, watched my heart rate (which was well over 130 with minimal exertion).
We shall see how I feel tomorrow!
