Been Sick

Been sick since Wends.  Sore throat, chills, tired, nasal passages raw, and coughing a lot.  The fog has been thick.  Did some listings last nite and it took every bit of concentration I could muster.  Tom took my place siding the house with Steve on Thurs nite, last nite it rained so we couldn't work.  It was suppossed to rain all day today (Sat) but the sun is out.  Damn!  I still feel like crap. We are working between the houses, in a very narrow space (5-6ft wide), it's very damp, and that side of the house was cluttered with pigeons for years.  They have been gone for a while now, but I'm on the lower ladder or the ground, so whenever Steve hammers it loosens all this dirt and 100 year old dust and dirt loose, and I've been breathing it in.  Getting it in my mouth many times.  Now I'm sick.  I wondering if my body is fighting off, or I'm just over-taxed, or plain old sick.  Plus I keep getting bit by all the bugs there, not to mention the stress of trying to move around in this uncomfortable space that is filled with my neighbors garbage, leaf bags, and assorted cast-offs.  He has all his crap even lined against the full side of my house.  What the hell is he thinking?  We're working with tall ladders, doing balancing acts, and he has even added to this junk.  The neighbors claim to be good ppl, and our friends, but they don't see the hazard, or don't care to see how this crap is making everything more difficult and dangerous.  Not to mention extremely unpleasant.  Steve say's "it's OK", but he always says that when it comes to other ppl.  He doesn't want to rock the boat.  Now if I have to work out there today, sick, tired, with hurting teeth, PMS, I just might flip my top!!!

Hey You,

With regard to your question: I wondering if my body is fighting off, or I\'m just over-taxed, or plain old sick. The answer could very will be: \"C\" all of the above!

I hope you will take the day off and get some rest. It sounds like you\'ve pushed yourself way to hard. Especially since you\'ve got that tooth/gum thing going on. Pigeon poop is probably full of germs that you don\'t need to be breathing. (Last fall I gathered \"free\" wood from a chicken coop. The wood was buried in goat turds, dust, and rat droppings. My lymph nodes swelled up. Yuck. Disgusting.)

The over-exertion, dampness, dust, animal fecal matter, and possible mold can really take their toll. I know you\'re protective of your husband and want to do as much as you can to help, but just think, if you\'re totally, completely knocked down you won\'t be able to care for yourself or for him in the long run. I hope you can get some rest and allow your body to recuperate.

Next time you go back outdoors to work on the project you might consider wearing a scarf or mask over your mouth/nose to filter out the dust. In the meantime, some Vicks vapor rub on your sore throat--and the bottoms of your feet might give you some relief. Warm salt water rinse for teeth and throat!

I hate PMS. It can really make me feel like I could come apart at the seams.

I hope you feel better asap.

Hugs,

Michelle/Anoosh
