Been Long time

It’s been 4 years since l’ve been here. So much has happened, there are days l wonder how l do it. Mike’s been gone 12 years & it feels like today. Mike missed two weddings. His brother Dan got married to Asheton May 13 2017 & his sister Jessica got married to Keane September 28 2018. Each had something special for Mike. On January 18 2016, Mike’s dad learned he had stage 4 Stomach Cancer. It was a long hard year but we made the most of it. Mike’s dad lost his battle to Stomach Cancer February 12th 2017. I feel like someone stabbed a spike into my heart. Not only did l lose my son but 10 years after losing Mike Jr., l lost his father Mike Sr. Then l had to put our beloved dog Rascal to sleep May 9th 2017. Life has been cruel & right now l’m angry at God for taking my son husband & dog. I ask myself very day why. I had to go to work two weeks after your dad passed away because there was no insurance or savings. My dearest son..I could use one of your hugs & hear you say.. everything will be ok Ma. I love & miss you so much.

Hello my friend. You've certainly had a lot on your plate these past few years. Wonderful highs and exciting things happen, and yet SO much devastating heartache as well. I'm so very sorry to know your husband lost his battle earth side. That has to be just as heart shattering course, and yet, I imagine, a very different experience than losing Mike Jr. Just as we plan and envision our future lives with our children and all the possibilities their futures hold, we plan and envision our futures with our life partners. And of course losing a beloved pet aka family member, rocks us to our core as well. Just breaks my heart, truly.

I'm glad you popped in and shared and I hope to "see" you here as often as you feel you can and/or want to share what's in your heart. I also would like to invite you to check out our new website, if you haven't already, at ForMomsOnly.org.

Tightest of heart hugs dear one~

Hi...I am so glad to see you here. Wow...so much has happened in your life. I am so glad to see you continuing to put one foot in front of the other. Life can be so hard and yet there is happiness too. I hope you get to experience the happiness often!

Welcome back. The highs and lows of life can be uncomprehensible. My heart hurts for you, losing your Mike Sr. and a beloved pet. And whether it is 12 years or yesterday, the pain of losing a child is always with us. As Karen said, one foot in front of the other. The thing I love about FMO is that there is always someone here who understands.
Love and tight hugs, Marlene
