been a week for my best buddy
Two oclock Friday for my best buddy, Monkey Kat, to be gone; one third of my own life gone with him.
Monk lived 20 years, the landlord helped us, there's the other cat to keep me company----I should be glad about all of that.
?
I can, at least, sit in my apartment again, though I still imagine him strolling around some corner, just after I thought for sure he was fast asleep. Last week, I had to try to stay out of my apartment, the apartment I spent over 20 hours a day in with my cat.
This morning I put the chair he always sitting in away, as well as being able to return the computer to...nearby the chair he was always sitting in; just realized that connection while typing.
For good or bad, I'm a little brain dead now; can be thankful I'm not wound up the way I was before or day he was gone.

This is sad to read. the days and weeks following the death of a fur friend is so hard. Very hard. There are so many reminders of them, they are all around us. In Our home. And then they are no longer there. It\'s such an adjustment.
20 years is a long time and an awesome life for a cat. I know you gave Monk a ton of love and a good life. He will be with you forever in your heart and memory.
It\'s hard to put the items away and rearrange the home. I had to do that with my last dog. I cried so much. I kept her collar and toy and cover to her bed. I couldn\'t part with them or throw them away.
Our dog died in 2010. We have another dog now but my son who is 22 was petting her only yesterday and he said that he still misses our Jessy. I told him that I did too. I love my new dog but I still miss my old Friend. She\'ll always be with me.
It will take time for the pain to ease up and to go through the grieving. I know it\'s sad and difficult and I feel for you.
Maybe, and I say maybe in time you will get another kitty in the future if you like to have more than one cat. There are so many animals out there that need love and a good home.
thank you, very much.
just a couple hours ago, I threw away a few more things...I have LOTS of 3 for dollar picked eggs containers from grocery store I was using to put endliess leftover cat food in....my elderly cat went through lots of different flavors each day just to get him to eat, with leftovers next door or for homeless cats outside. NOW, 30 cans or pouches for the other cat for entire month, when it was 3 or 4 times as much all total for both, to get elderly one to eat. Lots of money for me to save now, but....
I\'m sorry to hear about your dog; I couldn\'t handle even keeping some like a collar, though my other cat has his toys.
about a week with no screensaver, then I put up what I found: \"you were given this life cause you are strong enough to live it\" (I don\'t believe it, but...)
thanks again, for commenting.
Reading your journal gave me a rush of memories of our deceased four legged family members. How they gave us comfort and smiles. But reading your journal and remembering made me near tears from memories. Sending warm bear hugs your way. Sandy
thank you, Sandy102142,
I\'m sorry for bringing back some sad memories.
Comfort and smiles; I do know that I needed my cat as much as he needed me.
May we all remember the happy times too! My little Bear was born blind in one eye. It was so funny and cute watching her wipe out jumping on things until she learned to compensate. I also remember how sweet it was when she lay on my chest purring. Rip Claudia dear. I will always love you
