Becker's Muscular Dystrophy

Hey I'm new to this site I have Becker's Muscular Dystrophy. I also suffer from depression and anxiety. I was looking for anyone who has the same problems and understands what I'm going through to talk to and maybe relate the stuff I deal with too. If anyone would like to talk or just tell me how they deal with these things feel free to message me or comment on this entry.

Hello, and let me first say welcome home.. I don\'t suffer from those things but depression I do.. I\'ve been battling this for a year and few months now and through it all there been times where i actually came to thoughts where i didnt want to live anymore and no one cared about me or understood what i was going through.. I know what its like to feel all the emotions that come with depression.. and to feel like your alone.. have thoughts always running through your mind.. but I came up with some things that helped me.. writting is one, where having a book/journal anything that you can write in and put down everything! All emotions, every last bit.. another one is going for a walk and clear your mind of the things that are bringing you down... talk to someone who knows how you feel and understands what your going through.. but just be careful to talking to people who don\'t really know what its like.. because from my experience its very hard and it feels like your just talking to someone that\'s pointless.. but always know that there are groups on here for the thinga you are dealing that willl help you. . Always know that everyone here is here for you and here to help out any way we can.. In the mean time keep your head up..

Thanks, and I\'ve been dealing with depression and anxiety for the last 2 and a half years and I had a couple times when I thought the same things like I felt worthless and that I didn\'t want to live anymore. The thing that always made me not do it was thinking of my niece and nephews and how they would have to hear that Uncle Kyle took his own life. I didn\'t want them to ever have to go through that. Thinking about how my family would be devastated also prevented it I\'m very close to my family and my nephews and niece mean the world to me. I agree with that we have to be careful who we talk to about the depression since some people just don\'t get it like the friends I have who tell me to shake out of it. Like it\'s that easy. Thanks for help and I\'m here too if you need anything It\'s good to know were not alone with our struggles with depression.

Well I have had depression and anxiety ever since I was very young. My first memories of feeling this way were in grade school. Hope I can offer some kind of support for you, friend.

Hey. I\'m fairly new here as well, but I find it to be very helpful as I\'m sure it will be for you as well. I too struggle with depression and anxiety and have been in and out of treatment for 20 yrs now. I can relate with what you\'ve shared. For me, my reason for fighting these illnesses is my daughter. She is my world and has already lost her dad so losing me as well just isn\'t an option. There are times that I ask God to just take me as I just feel so spent at times, but in reality I do want to be here with the ones I love. I just want things to be better than they are. It\'s hard to accept the fact that you have any form of mental illness. Hell, I to this day have a hard time accepting it. What I\'ve been working on lately is acknowledging all of the things I have to be grateful for. I\'m naturally a negative thinker, so I work on challenging every negative thought by thinking of a positive as well. It\'s harder to do, but it gets easier. I\'m here if I can be of any help to you.

Friend19- thanks for the support and feel free to message me if you ever need someone to talk to. Lala37- Yeah I just want to get better so I can get back to working and not being home all the time. I recently had to stop working a job I just started because I needed time to get myself better. I agree with thinking about the things we have to be grateful for it\'s a great idea and one I\'m gonna start thinking about more when I start to journal again. Thanks
