Be the change you want to see...
I had an epiphany Saturday. I know this may sound shocking, but I realized that I actually have to WORK toward my goal. It isn't just going to fall into my lap. I know, right?! Who knew?! So, after my scary doctor's appointment Saturday, I truly realized that nothing is ever going to change if I don't do the changing. I sit around and cry about being morbidly obese and make excuses about why I can't exercise. I blame it on my health problems...that will only be made better by exercising! I can't do that anymore. I refuse to remain 304 lbs. I simply refuse. But, I know, it is one thing to say it, but another to put it into action.
Well, yesterday, I did just that. Not at first, mind you. I slept until 11:30. But, I had a healthy first meal of the day and then a 15 minute workout that truly kicked my tushy! I felt so exhausted, but so great, afterwards that it kept my invigorated long after my husband came home! I was on such a roll that we went up to the gym and began our free month! We didn't work out right then, but we will start today when I get home from my doctor's appointment. I still can't believe I actually joined. I always talk about it, but I always come up with an excuse not to.
We had a healthy dinner last night: we split a footlong sub and a large southwest salad. I did have a coke with it, because the salad was too hot for me to just drink water. I will be buying healthier alternatives today.
Now, I usually get revved up about weightloss and lifestyle changes for one day, and then refuse to leave my comfy bed the next morning. Not so today! I dragged myself up at 6:30 with my husband. My sister was already home from work and we took off through the neighborhood for a 20 minute brisk walk so that I could be back before my darling left for work. It was fantastic! I am really tired right now, but the walk gave me enough energy that I am going to keep myself busy today...the only downside to that wonderful walk was we ended up walking through calf high grass and I got my pedometer wet. I hope it's not broken. My shoelaces and are the only place I can attach it that it works. And, I just started using it!!! Urgh. But, I will figure that out!
I plan to write in here everyday as well and participate on the boards, because it will help motivate me. I know I am lazy and forget, but it must be done! And, I have some great people on here to help me! Well, I need to go get some breakfast!

You should be really proud of yourself because this first step is way harder than it sounds and trust me I know \'cause I\'ve been there. The most important thing now is like you said you gotta stick to your plan and I might not be much, but I\'m here to support if you need it.
