Be picky with who you invest your time - wasted time is worse than wasted money//sounds like carton

wasted time is worse than wasted money."

it sounds like a cardboard carton has been run over but heavier.  i passed what appeared to be two large green turtles in the middle of the road with blood everywhere from it.  IN THE MIDDLE of the road, makes me furious.  at night its possible to not see them, but in broad daylight?  then a few baby raccoons and possums and what looked like a couple of 3 or 4 month old kittens on various main roads around here, one of which runs along the ocean.    i know its that time of year where the animals born in early spring are out there and animals in general are running around because the weather is good, but its still sickening.  at night its dark, but during the day?
there is no noise, just that cardboard box run over sound.  if the animal is toward the side and its daylight, it seems to me the car is either not paying attention (on the phone or texting?) at all OR they are purposely swerving TOWARD the animal to kill it.  no one drives next to the shoulder of the road, everyone drives toward the middle stripes. people are crazy.  so many lately.

also started reading the journey back, by johanna reiss, which is a sequel to the upstairs room.  its a post world war II story of what is left of the town she and her sisters came from in holland after being hidden away for 3 years.  the 3 sisters and the father all survived, hidden at different places.  its a memoir.   people who hid other people were extremely brave.  the narrator kept in touch with the people that hid her for the rest of her life.  its sad on multiple levels.  she says after 3 years of not knowing her family, she had to get to re-know them, as they were now strangers to her, but she also didn't want to un-know the family that protected her and risked their lives to keep her alive.   which is very different from the assholes that were insisting jews that survived concentration camps should spend holidays with their former gestapos permanently since they live together in one place and they DID survive it.  wtf?   they should keep in touch with people who tortured them

also saw the orange cat at the house up north again.  i talked to the wild life guy and he says it appears to be injured.  since they are trapping raccoons (and he claims re-releasing them way west of here) i asked him if the cat is in a trap can he bring it to get it fixed and then re-release it at the house up north.  we have tried to make friends with it for two years now with no luck.  rn has one like that near her house as well.  rn was also sick for 3 days and missing in action.  she says her blood pressure dropped real low and she couldn't physically DO anything.  very tricky since she also babysits - she kept the baby in the stroller the whole time and wheeled it around the house to take care of everything.  if she's not on meds her blood pressure is too high and on meds she has dips like this.  i think she should change medication, its odd that she's on some new one instead of one of the ones that everyone goes on.  i hate it when doctors use living things as experiments.  scary though.  low blood pressure can kill you just like high blood pressure can kill you.

doing nothing lately.  catching up on the shadow children series by haddix.  i think i have two left of the six in the series to read.  finishing up life with father by clarence day, jr.  downloaded the recipe for boston creme poke cake.  picked up a red hatters book at the book sale down town.  she says she sent the poem by Jenny Joseph, When I Am An Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple” With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.    And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.    And make up for the sobriety of my youth.  when her sister was turning 50 in 1999, along with a red hat as a joke.  and from there the "club" spread like wild fire totally unplanned and unexpected, along with more than one best selling book about the advantages of being old.  she says more chapters are opening allll the time.  she also claims she feels younger at 60 then she did at 20 as when you are 20 you have so many responsibilities, and social, work and educational expectations and obligations that you often can't be "young" even if you have your health at that age and you generally don't have your health at a later age.
found a great shop to get pants hemmed and since i already cut them for her, she did it while i waited.  its cash only, so have to remember that.  if my hemoglobin would go back up to what it should be, i'd like to start walking the beach and swimming to get back to a normal weight, but can't do it like this.  i don't have the oxygen inside my body right now - that is what hemoglobin does, brings oxygen to all body parts.   so weird and scary.  wonder if swimming would still be too hard on me.  its hard to wrap my head around this as not being healthy is a new thing for me.  the woman weighs me at the doctor and i'm over 200 now.  omg!  she says to me, that she WISHES she were that weight.  that is stunning as well.  i look around and i realize, almost everyone working in their office is fat.  fatter than me actually.  but i still can't stand it.  the fat thing has to go.

they finally fixed the sauna at the spa.  shopped for animal supplies and picked up another new tag with my number on it, but since they take off their collars what good is it?
