Barn Roofs

I hate phones. Between my hearing weirds and speech defect, I rely on visual cues to understand people far more than I trust words. Phones are nothing BUT words and so much a part of 21st century culture that it shocks people to learn I don't like phones, especially in view of the cultural stereotypes about women and phones. I'm *supposed* to love them as much as I love the fashion scene, aren't I? Have you seen my closet? It isn't much better than the fashion train wreck I am currently wearing.

The next step in the barn restoration project is roofs. 2 of them. The livestock barn which holds the Tinker's Den is quite big, but low priority. When it rains, it isn't hard to just sidestep the leaks. The two open walls of the barn make climate control a non-issue. To my senses, the open-air design is quite desireable for a workshop. Adequate ventilation is always available for whatever toxic chemical mix is needed for any project.

The honey barn is about a quarter the size of the livestock barn, but a more complex building. The honey extraction will require at least one climate controlled room. Well. . . Bee-control, really. Bees tend to treat honey extraction like a county fair and their partying *is* a problem for the chore of getting their hard work ready for human consumption. Sorry, ladies. Asserting my "Top of the Food Chain" vanities now. If the outside climate can enter, so can bees. They are clever, persistent critters.

The top priority on today's agenda is making the calls which will initiate the bidding process on both roofs. For now, we are planning to do the roofs on separate spreadsheets, but we will gather bids for both barns simultaneously.

Plying therapy exercises to calm my phone anxieties before I start the calls. May my hearing and speech hold steady. . .

I got through the first wave of phone calls with productive grace. I've been dumb-broading ever since, though, as I have been whipping myself to resume the weatherizing of the extraction room. Geez, bitch, you've run kajillions of caulk lines. Quit dramacating. Just do the do. . . The critics/advisors in The Dumb Broad Show are competing to insert stigmatic girl jokes and/or EEO platitudes here.

QUIET ON THE SET! ! !

Catch up Chris. The Cold War is over. I work for the aliens who are due to reveal themselves soon. You know. . . The aliens who have been grooming us with enchiladas and hot sauce. . .

Do they have prime rib enchiladas in your neighborhood yet?

Enchiladas?? What?? But it's TACO TUESDAY!!

I hate phones as phones, but I love my cellphone as my personal handheld computer. My phone calls out, which is pretty much only used to make reservations or order to go, and it takes messages for incoming, you know, like my personal assistant. What is this "talking" you mention? :-)

HA! dumb broading! The favorite past-time of women of Mensa. No doubt you will get the job done on the roofs with a proper good deal.

triple hugs of support while you sweet talk negotiate for the honey barn bees~
