Banished!

I don't feel quite as energetic today as I did yesterday. I don't feel bad...just dragged out. I think I may be trying to catch a cold...I hope the cold is fast enough to elude me.   But it's an ill wind indeed that doesn't do someone (or in this case, something) some good. I was preparing my breakfast and my cat was circling around my feet. She does this on the very real possibility that I may drop some food on the floor. (If it does, she doesn't let it bounce twice.)   Today the cat hit the jack pot...or more accurately, the jackpot nearly hit her. I guess because of the added strain of the cold, my hands were shaky. I didn't realize how shaky until I tried to flip over my eggs. I dropped the spatula and knocked the skillet and eggs and everything else on the stove to the floor. The cat used one of it's nine lives because the old cast iron skillet missed her by one of her whiskers. The spatula dropped directly behind her and she got the bonus of having the eggs land within her reach. Of course, her first reaction was to hide. But when she determined that it was a safe, (it only took some 15 seconds or so) she quickly reemerged from behind the counter and claimed salvage rights to the food on the floor. Actually, she didn't wait for her right to be approved...she began scarfing down the eggs as fast as she could.   By the time  my wife cleaned the area ,shortly after my culinary disaster, the eggs were gone. (Hey, I would have cleaned up. I'm not a male pig... at least not about this. It's just that my wife ran me out of her kitchen...her kitchen? Hmpph!). She then prepared some breakfast for me.  She asked me to not try to help out.  For some reason she thinks that this only creates more work for her...I don't know where she gets that idea. At least the cat appreciates my cooking! Poor kitty may have to wait a bit. For now I'm banished   Oh well, at least this day is over. Tomorrow offers a fresh start. (Hope springs eternal..at least around here).  Be well,Tom
