Bambi's momma

Went Christmas shopping again yesterday, restarted online medical stuff at Ft. Campbell, and picked up med refills (took lots of breaks!).  Bought 1 gift, have 3 to go.  Got home with time to eat and nap before Wed. night church services.
Our small church has a Wed. night youth program.  My husband drives the church van (about 50 miles, total -- picking up and taking home) and picks up children.  I ride with him and watch the kids, help him remember our stops......  We usually pick up an average of 13 kids --- about 1/3 of the kids that attend on Wed. nights.
Last night, we'd just left to make our run when 2 deer ran (and I do mean RAN) out in front of us.  We hit one.  :(   We're fine, but  the church van is now out of commission for a while.  I'm so thankful that we didn't have a van full of children.  The kids we pick up didn't make it to church --- there is no back up plan or substitute driver.
I'm feeling a little better --- I'm hoping my tummy troubles were caused by some new protein bars I've been trying.  My face has been breaking out very badly for the last couple of months, too.  I finally figured out what's causing that.  My foggy brain finally read the ingredient list on some cheap facial cleanser I've been using ---- I'm allergic to one of the ingredients in the cleanser.
Must finish Christmas shopping.....Must finish Christmas shopping.....Must finish Christmas shopping.  I have to shop today --- I'm so afraid that if I wait, the crash will come before I get finished.

OH no Pilot! I\'m glad you and everyone in the van are safe! Sorry to hear the van is damaged. And you and I were just talking about deer running into the road a few days ago. Glad you\'re feeling a little better and can hopefully get all your Christmas shopping done - time to rest afterwards!

Wow that\'s a great service taking all the kids to church.Shame the van is damaged, but not the worst outcome. Hey pilot I tried some protein bars also at the shopping centre and they made me sick also.Never again! Glad you checked the facial cleanser out, they pack so many chemicals into cosmetics these days, not fair.Hope you survive the final attack on the xmas shopping, Go girl! Bye, Di xox

Oh, so sorry about hitting the deer! It happens so often, and is such a common occurrence!! I guess there is just no way to avoid it. They do RUN out into the street and we nearly kill ourselves trying to avoid them. In the case of deer/vs. car, the deer always wins. So sorry that this happened when you were picking up children for church. Thankfully no one was hurt.

I know what you mean about trying to get things done before the crash starts! We kinda have to live that way. When we\'re having a good spell, we run around like idiots trying to do the things we know we won\'t be be able to do when the crash comes. We\'re used to it. I think other people see us doing so much and criticize us for it. My husband always says \"slow down, you know you\'re only going to end up in bed\". Well, yes.......that\'s why I\'m doing this while I\'m on my feet! It\'s a hard thing to explain to healthy folk, who can just go and do whenever they need to. We\'re on a clock! We have to do what we can, when our bodies say so. It\'s outright mean. I\'m glad you got at least one gift, and pray you don\'t go down with a crash till after the holidays! Jeepers, our lives are difficult. But we manage to find the joy, don\'t we! xoxo
