BAM! and I ran into that "door", lol...
Well, Friday was INSANE!!!
I spoke with a business insurance agent about prices which were right where I expected, and he thinks my idea would be AWESOME...
I emailed my tax accountant sister and found out what I should expect for tax rates, and when I said I was just asking for guestimates until tax season was over and I could talk to a local accountant, she told me SHE want's to be my local accountant and will get everything set up for me (COOL!) and said she comes with references, lol, my other sister hee, hee, hee...
And I snooped at the only other competitor within 30 miles... rates are almost 1/2 of what I'm going to charge, but then again, she gave me a tour... and while it was extraordinarily clean, the layout was FRIGHTENING. CAGES stacked 3 high with narrow hallways in a rebuilt garage and she said she puts the cats on top of the dogs when it's PACKED during rally week! O.M.G.!!! THEN SHE SAYS... all dogs are stressed when they are away from home. REALLY?!!! I've NEVER had a stressed dog while pet sitting all this time and I certainly won't when I do my business because the dogs will get as good of care and attention as my own do. She even had one in a kennel while I was there, was ignoring it (playing on a computer when I walked in) and didn't even pay attention to it whining as we walked through together, and said the poor thing only got exercise 3 times a day and couldn't have any of its own things with it (like a dog bed)! UGH. Wanna see what my "suites" are gonna be like? Here's a link to a photo: http://www.mountainrunkennel.com/pages/suites-for-dogs.php
AND THEN... friends offered to get me equipment, like hamster balls and tunnels for the small animal room and aquariums for the cat's rooms...
AND THEN.... THE DOOR.
The vet clinic. The one that would be PERFECT. I went to the real estate site to see what they had for layout information, cost information, and the listing was changed.... they want over 1/2 million dollars for it! And they're NOT advertising leasing availability! It's the most expensive office building in town!
I still haven't spoken with the vet yet - I DO plan to, if nothing else, for information on disinfecting, etc., to keep the business safe.... pick his brain, if you know what I mean. But right now, I feel SHUT DOWN. SCARED again. Not giving up though... I found 2 more buildings that would work... 1 out on the edge of town so I wouldn't need any the city licensing, the other is downtown and has been empty for 2 years and rent is right where I planned AND it's next door to another vet clinic...
And I was questioning doing this at all... But you know, if nothing else, just KNOWING that for a little while, I reached a dream and lived a passion..... Yep, worth it.
