baking friday :) Pretzels and Lemonade :)

baking friday! :) calling all cookie monsters! :) hehe! :) cookie monsters! :) hehe! :) cookie monsters unite! :) it's baking friday, and the tradition continues! :) awww! :) a super sweet, spring time baking friday adventure in the kitchen! :) With some flour flying, and the triplets, Colby, Brayden, and Jacob joining us in the kitchen today, for some baking friday, cooking and baking lessons :) awww! :) it was so nice, the triplets, Alyssa, and my mom joined me in the kitchen today :) Kayla has a busy day at school, with cross-country track team meeting, and school dance this evening, and my sister Jenn has work today, but Kayla and Mikey were definitely with us in spirit in the kitchen, and you all, our dear angel friends were with us in spirit in the kitchen today :) We wish you all could come over to join us, for some baking friday treats :)
We sure do love our baking friday adventures, and sharing our adventures with everyone :) keeping with the tradition, a wonderfully wholesome tradition, today Alyssa, Colby, Jacob, Brayden, my mom, and i baked some nice homemade pretzels, and made some fresh lemonade, for baking friday :) it was really nice :) i got some lemonade chillin in the fridge, and tonight i'm gonna have a nice pretzel, and lemonade, and going to have a movie night :) it's gonna be really good :) Angel friends, we hope you all are doing well, and having a great friday :) i'm sipping a blueberry iced coffee, and got my window open here, nice fresh spring air flowing into my computer room, and lots of love flowing into my heart, from family and friends :) Thank you all so much :)
We love the baking friday tradition, and we look forward to baking each week :) As spring season is beginning to blossom now, with the nature shining all around, we've been beginning to blossom into some spring time baking adventures :) i thought it would be nice today, to have a simple adventure, making some of our favorite treats :) lemonade, and pretzels :) my niece Taylynn hasn't felt well this week, she's had a cold/flu, but is on the mend, and when i told her we were making lemonade today, her eyes lit up with excitement, as she loves the lemonade :) i remember last year when we made lemonade, she had lots of it :) We love getting into the spiurit of spring time baking :) as my window is now open more, i can see some birds flying into our front tree, landing upon the branches this early evening :) Earlier, my mom and i saw a red cardinal, so cool, and bright nature, that really touches our heart :)
This morning, i began my day with a sunrise nature walk, with a big bowl of goodies, for our nature animal friends :) i love to go out during sunrise, when it's very active in our yard, and it's so nice now, getting to check in on the plants, that are growing :) i spotted some birds, and took in the sweet nature tunes, as the birds were singing happily :) i'm amazed, at how they sing, and they can really turn up the nature volume, this time of the year :) it's like, the birds are singing for us all, it's very beautiful, and has been bringing my heart, lots of peace :) this morning, around 8am, i had some thoughts and memories come into my mind, and i got emotional, as everyone knows, it's been 4 weeks now, to the day, where my life took a sudden change, unexpectedly. i've been doing alright, in recent days, but friday mornings/evenings, i have some emotional times, where my heart feels a bit sadder during these times. i took a good hour, for my thoughts, and feelings to go out, with a good cry, but the tears flowing, are ok, it's a sign, that my heart is trying to heal, and i know it's a theraputic thing, to let the feelings flow. i talked with my mom, friends, and i read all of your heart-felt hugs and messages, and texts you all sent me Thank you angel friends :) i appreciate your amazing love, your encouragement, your beautiful spirits, that always help me to focus forward, and to think of good positive things, and good times i've been able to have with family and friends, during the past 4 weeks, and of course, things to look forward too :) it gives me hope, and it gives me amazing strength. :) i'm very blessed, and thankful. :)
It's truly, a healing journey, and is very comforting, and uplifting to know, i have family and our family of friends, with me every time i need them :) i'm here for you all too :) my sister Lisa and niece Alyssa went over to dunkin donuts, and were so nice to pick up a blueberry iced coffee for me :) i've been using my gift cards i got for my birthday last month, and it's been so nice, to get some treats :) i haven't had many iced coffees lately, but every once in a while, i love to have one :) i feel strong, brave, courageous, i feel like i'm making healing progress, it's not been easy, but i know each day, is getting a little easier for me, with things, and i've been doing well this week :) i got my awesome new window area here, and it's so nice, and refreshing. :) plus, i'm really getting into some nice writings too :) Angel friends, i wanted to let you all know, that earlier today, on amazon, i bought a book of postcards, and they'll be arriving soon :) i look forward to writing some Greetings from Connecticut, postcards to mail to friends :) it's gonna be nice :)
Today, i decorated our kitchen, around mid-afternoon :) this morning, with it being emotional, i thought i'd take my time more with things today, and decorated our kitchen with a sunflower theme :) Earlier, i had enjoyed a nice lunch, and spent some good quality time here on ds, writing to friends :) i also talked with my mom and dad a bit :) shortly before 3pm, i went out into the kitchen, getting everything set, for our baking adventure :) Alyssa and the triplets came over :) it was nice to see them :) We were in the kitchen, my mom was with us too :) We began to prepare the pretzels :) We love homemade pretzels, and over the past few years, have made some great pretzels :) it's a very simple recipe :) we add yeast with a cup of water, we also add in some garlic powder, and a little sugar :) during autumn season, we like to add in cinnamon for the pretzels :) today we made the garlic ones :)
Alyssa helped stir :)She did really well :) earlier this week, Alyssa began a brand new job at burger king :) She's also worked a bit at dunkin donuts :) we're very happy for her :) after we stirred the pretzel dough, i taught Alyssa how to roll each pretzel dough into a nice roll shape, and we then made the pretzels into the shape of the classic pretzels :) Alyssa loves to join in and helping bake, and the triplets, Colby, Brayden, and Jacob were running around, and watching us a bit too :) it's nice, they are getting some baking and cooking lessons, and soon, will join in more, with the cooking, and baking :) They say "cookies!" :) We gotta have a cookies monster themed baking friday adventure for them soon :) we were having fun baking, my mom came out into the kitchen at times, and Taylynn too :) i got some water boiling on the stove, and i put the pretzels into the water for a minute or 2, and this helps the pretzels get bigger :) i used butter to grease a baking pan, and put the pretzels on the pan, and i melted some butter, and drizzled that on the pretzels :) i then put the pretzels into the oven to bake! bake! bake! :)
my niece Alyssa needed to go to walmart, my dad took her there, as he needed to pick up some items too :) my mom and i were in the kitchen, and watching the triplets :) i prepared the lemonade :) on the stove, i got 1 cup of water, and 1 and a half cups of sugar, heating up on the stove :) that's the sweet syrup for the lemonade :) i then sliced 6 lemons, and squeezed the lemon juice into the measuring cup :) i used a sifter, to get the seeds out of the lemon juice :) i then poured the lemon juice, into the pitcher, and once the sweet syrup was boiling, i poured that into the pitcher, and i then added cups of water, about 4 more cups to fill up the pitcher :) i then added in, 4 slices of the lemonade :) i put the lemonade in the fridge to chill :) i can't wait to have some lemonade tonight, while watching a movie :)
the Pretzels baked really nicely, they get a golden brownish color to them, we love fresh baked pretzels :) they're perfect plain, or for dipping in ranch salad dressing, honey mustard, cheese dip, and lots more :) they are great with salads too :) my dad and Alyssa arrived back home here :) it was a nice baking friday, and we want to continue with the spring themes :) it's really nice :) i thanked Alyssa for helping bake :) We'll be having many more super fun baking friday adventures :) it's so good, and special, to have traditions like this :) Thank you angel friends, for joining us in our kitchen each week, and for welcoming us into your kitchens :) This is so much fun, and very special :) a wonderful shoutout, to everyone, family, friends, lots of cooking, and baking this week :) We love hearing about the nice foods, goodies, and treats, you cook and bake :) i wish we all could have a big picnic :) Homemade Pretzels, and Lemonade, dedicated to our wonderful family, friends, and to the spirit of spring time :) we love you all so very very much :) many great memories being made, to always cherish, and treasure :) baking friday! :) We love it! :) April 24th, 2015 :) Happy baking friday everyone :)
We're enjoying a nice day :) baking friday, wholesome traditions, and keeping on keeping on :) my family and i are doing well :) it's been a good, positive week :) i've been keeping busy, having some nice talks on the phone with friends :) keeping up with nature, and checking in on our plants :) Each day, i'm getting a bit stronger :) i'm looking forward to the weekend :) We're gonna go shopping at the dollar store tomorrow :) i'm going to stock up on some greetings cards, and writing supplies :) it's gonna be so nice, buying some packs of cards, and stickers :) we love the dollar store :) i'm going to continue to decorate my window area, and my computer room, plus on sunday, i want to do some writing, and some yard and garden work :) my family and i want to clean our front yard, and organize our garden areas :) it's gonna be a nice weekend :) Tonight, i'm going to watch the 2nd half, of the 3rd, Lord of the Rings movie :) i've been enjoying the movies this week :) i'm making some hot air popcorn tonight :) Thank you angel friends, so very much, for all that you do for my family and i :) We appreciate you all, and are so blessed, and thankful, to have you all in our lives :) We'll always be here for you all :) BIG GROUP WARM FRIENDSHIP HUG :) We hope everyone enjoys a nice weekend :)

baking friday supplies :) We have a very special shoutout, and thank you for my dear and lovely mom, and dad :) they love going out to the stores on friday's, and they picked up baking friday supplies for us all :) it's so nice, and generous of them :) Thank you mom and dad. :) We all love to chip in each week, to get baking friday supplies :) we love this very special tradition, and are blessed to have it in our lives :) Wholesome traditions, that bring special memories each adventure :) happy baking friday smiles :)
Preparing the Pretzels, and Lemonade :) We love the nice steps, to adding in the ingredients, and super stirring, getting the flour flying in the air in the kitchen :) it's fun, and joyful times being shared with family and friends :) You all are always with us in spirit, in our kitchens :)
We make the nice pretzel dough, it's a nice recipe, we love to add in some garlic, or cinnamon at times :) Today we added in some garlic powder :) i cut the dough into portions, we then roll the smaller pieces, into the shape of pretzels :) on the stove, i get some water boiling up, these are for the pretzels to go into, for a minute or two, and it makes the pretzels get bigger :)We put the pretzels onto the baking pan, and we drizzle melted butter, and salt onto the pretzels, and it's then time for the pretzels to bake :)

Preparing the lemonade :) We used 6 lemons, we squeezed the lemons into the measuring cup :) on the stove, i got 1 cup of water, and 1 and a half cups of sugar heating up :) That's the syrup for the lemonade :) we then pour the syrup into the pitcher, with the lemon juice, and 8 cups of water :) we stir it really good, and put it in the fridge to chill :) We love iced cold lemonade :)
