baking friday! :) calling all cookie monsters! :) hehe! :) cookie monsters! :) hehe! :) cookie monsters unite!!! :) it's new year, and it's baking friday!!! :) oh my! :) a sweet, super fun, and wholesome, happy new year themed baking friday adventure in the kitchen!!! :) with wild fun, flour flying, and sharing lots of smiles! :) We're ready for a full new year, of baking friday adventures! :) With new recipes, and that wonderful excitement, of getting the kitchen cozy warm, especially during winter season, for some good old fashioned ,baking, and cooking, these days of winter! :) with the football playoffs beginning too, it's a great time, to make some gameday meals, and snacks! :) We wish you all could come over, to enjoy some baking friday goodies! :) awww! :)
We sure do love our baking friday adventures, and sharing our adventures with everyone :) keeping with the tradition, a wonderfully wholesome tradition, today Kayla, Mikey, and i baked some nice, seasoned onion rings, and some 2015 themed sugar cookies, to ring in a brand new year, of baking friday fun! :) We love to get the flour flying, and we're always up, to try new recipes in the kitchen. :) The football playoffs are here, and i was thinking about these awesome games, the NFL playoffs, wildcard weekend is arriving, and i wanted to bake some nice, old bay seasoned onion rings. :) i always get so very into the spirit of the football playoffs, it's the countdown to superbowl! :) my family and i hope everyone is enjoying a beautiful day, and a great start, to the new year :) 2015 is settling in very nicely :) i've been thinking of you all often, and so excited, we're all getting to celebrate the new year with eachother :) i'm blossoming into a little bit of this, a little bit of that, to begin the new year :) from writing, to nature walks, and today, continuing one of our favorite weekly traditions :) We're entering our 8th year now, of baking friday fun! :) WOW! :) 8 years already! time sure does fly by, when you're having lots of fun :) We enjoyed a nice new year holiday yesterday, and enjoying another peaceful day today :) i'm really happy and excited, about lots of great things :) This morning, i wished my family and friends, a happy baking friday :) i love to share your sweet happy baking friday wishes, with my family :) You all are so nice, and sweet :) Kayla and Taylynn have been enjoying a great holiday vacation. :) they return on January 5th, for the 2nd half of the school year :) they've been enjoying all kinds of fun, from games, to movies, tv shows, and going out with Taylynn's dad, meme, and pepe this past week :) it's been a full week, for us all, and so many very special memories being made, to always cherish, and treasure :)
This morning, i enjoyed a nice early morning nature walk :) it's feeling wintery outside. brrrrrr! i bundled up, as i put goodies all around our yard :)the clouds off into the distance, have gotten this pinkish glow in recent days, it looks like snow clouds are on their way! we're experiencing some snow, and icy conditions in our area tomorrow, it could be our first big snowfall accumulation of the winter season. i love to stock up our bird feeders with lots of seeds, and putting all kinds of goodies outside, for the birds and squirrels : )They've been very happy :) it was a nice morning. :) i gathered baking friday supplies, and decorations, and ventured out into our kitchen, to begin the early morning setting up, of our kitchen :) i made a nice 2015 banner, for our kitchen :) i love to decorate, it's one of my favorite joys of the baking friday tradition :) our kitchen looked awesome! :) i cooked a nice lunch, and made some phone calls :) i texted/called Holly, to let her know, that the nice old bay seasoning she sent us, will be a special part of our baking friday adventure today :) the nice seasoned onion rings :) i was showing my dad my nice new recipe cookbook, that features blueshell crabs, and many other nice seafood recipes :)
In the kitchen today, i used one of my nice new aprons, i got for Christmas :) i recieved 4 nice aprons, that i'm planning to use often, during our baking friday adventures this new year :) we love our wonderful aprons collection, and all of our baking friday supplies, we have recieved, over the years :) aprons, oven mits, hot mats, kitchen towels, and lots more :) i have a nice bag, that i use to carry the supplies into the kitchen :) Early afternoon, i enjoyed some nice time here on ds, writing to friends, and also talked with my dad about football :) Jenn brought Mikey over to visit, Jenn had a doctor's appointment, my mom babysat Mikey :) shortly after 2:30pm, we were getting ready,for our super fun adventure :) we were very excited, to bake goodies :) throughout the day today, i texted friends, to wish them a happy baking friday :) in the kitchen, i prepared the onions, for the onion rings, oh my! those onions were making my eyes water! hehe! :) i was ok though :)
Kayla, Mikey, and i got our picture taken in the kitchen :) We were then all set, and ready to bake! :) Calling all cookie monsters! :) it's time to bake! bake! bake! :) We began our super fun adventure! :) We first began to prepare, the new year, STAR shaped sugar cookies :) i said to Kayla, "pick out the best 2 eggs ever!" :) We needed 2 eggs, to make the cookies, and the onion ring batter dip :) we were excited, having our 1st baking friday adventure, of the new year :) 52 adventures this new year, so many awesome memories to be made! :) We began adding the ingredients into the big bowl :) We had that flour flying today, Mikey was in a wild mood! he said, "i'm crazy here!" hehe! :) oh my! :) we got some spoons, and added in extra melted butter, to the sugar cookie mix :) we super stirred the sugar cookie mix, and used our nice star shaped cookie cutter :) we were enjoying the adventure, we each got some cookie dough, and spread flour onto the counter :) Mikey was very proud, to make the star shaped cookies :) he was getting a bit wild too, he was throwing cookie dough! oh my! he sure was in a wild mood today, but he's only 3, so Kayla and i know, to just go along with him, helping guide him with the baking :)
We had 2 nice pan fulls of star shaped sugar cookies :) we baked some extra cookies :) i put the cookies into the oven to bake! bake! bake! :) as the cookies were baking, we did a little cleaning up in the kitchen, Mikey joined Taylynn for a game of connect 4, in our living room :) i prepared the onion ring batter dip :) i found the recipe, on the allrecipe site :) flour, milk, a little salt, pepper, baking powder, 1 egg, and i added in the old bay seasoning :) Kayla and i dipped the onion rings into the batter dip, and then put the onion rings onto 2 nicely greased with butter, pans :) the sugar cookies finished baking, they bake really fast :) i put the onion rings into the oven to bake :) the onion rings smelled so nice! :) oh wow! i couldn't wait to try the onion rings :) the onion rings were baking like an onion rings casserole! :) i put a little breadcrumbs in the baking pans :)

WONDERFUL day you all had, well done bakers, love the star shaped cookies, and the onion rings in the oven, good to know Chris, no fat, a healthy alternative, I love onion rings and Cathia, I will make some next week at her house, her kitchen is so comfy to cook with marble tops, she has the large tins, we always use baking paper, easy on the pans, here they even add beer to the batter, anyway its good to see you all happy and baking, beautiful time, precious.
