BAHAHAHA!
I started to write this huge journal entry and the power went out! No storm or anything, someone or something, like a squirrel, must of hit the transformer. Is it a sign not to write? I am now using the hot spot on my phone.
We are back from CO, my sinuses are glad to be back. Some serious jet lag going on. Mom is convinced that she is coming down with something. I am telling her that it is just jet lag and she will feel better tomorrow but to get up and move around a bit she will feel better. She took the dogs out walking. I can't see where she went.
I have mixed emotions about being back. I will miss my family but to be honest Ryan being so eccentric really gets on my nerves and Char and her drinking REALLY drives me nuts. So, being away from the drama is nice.....I will miss Sylas, the baby.
I don't know why but that old saying "Today is the First Day of the Rest of Your Life" keeps going thru my head this morning. I need to get back to reality and my regular routine. I need to lose some weight, get the coffee shop going and I want to quit drinking but as citychic says that it has to be a commitment one is ready for and I just don't feel that commitment in my bones. Also, when I read what this definition of an alcoholic is I don't know if I fit. " that results in the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages despite the health problems and negative social consequences it causes the individual". I am 61 years old, sort of healthy, exercise regularly, and eat sort of well. Well, I say I am healthy. I have a host of anti-inflammatory issues. Hyperthyroid disease, vitaligo, breast cancer, and now microscopic colitis. I am tough and carry on. I blame the weight gain on the steroid I take to keep the flare ups down. But I know that if I would just stop drinking and better my eating habits I could lose some weight. Also, love the sweets.
My drinking has never caused any "social consequences". I do notice that I cannot drink like I used to. Three glasses of wine and I am done, foggy the next day. Three vodka drinks and I am done drinking. I want to be a non-drinker but I just as I said not ready to make that commitment. I am reading "How to Stop Drinking the Easy Way" and am procrastinating about finishing it because he says not to quit drinking until you have read the book.
So, this morning, I am keeping up my food log on my fit bit and making a commitment not to drink this week. I am noticing that I am not as self controlled as I used to be especially with my eating habit. I need some accountability.
