Bad Start for Week
Monday, December 8, 2008 – 7 P.M. This is not starting out to be a very good week, but maybe things will improve as it goes on. Since I only have a few things to say tonight, I will keep them short. The CNA who has been causing problems for me recently, gave her two weeks notice to the home health care agency today. This agency does not like it when people quit working for them, so they removed her from my case immediately. I will have a substitute working for me until the Director of Staffing can find someone else to work on a regular basis. The other CNA, who had been working with this CNA, still refuses to talk with me very much. I believe that the two of them were very close friends, so it may be awhile before she starts opening up to me again. I am not entirely happy about that, but I am at a loss as to what to do to change it. I think that I will give her a few weeks to change her ways, or else I will ask for another replacement. This afternoon I received a disturbing call from my doctor's nurse. She said the culture came back on the specimen that was taken for my UTI, and it showed that I have e.coli bacteria. I was told to stop taking the antibiotic that I have been using for the last couple of days, and that a new antibiotic had already been called into my pharmacy. I am to take two capsules a day for the next seven days. I have been growing increasingly tired during the last couple of weeks, have had some stomach cramps, and today I began feeling very nauseated. The nurse said this was probably a sign of the UTI. Next Monday, I am going to see my doctor. At that time, I will ask him about taking some probiotics, and see what he thinks of that idea. We are expecting up to five inches of snow tonight. If we do get that much, I may not be able to make it to my physical therapy appointment tomorrow, and I need to keep that if possible. I have not had any therapy for about two weeks, and am beginning to feel tightness and rigidity throughout my body.
