Bad news and Good
There's been bad news and good. Had to go to the doctor today. I had a sore on my left foot that wouldn't go away. It started out as a blister and I thought it was caused by my shoes. I changed shoes and it didn't go away. Changed the innersoles in the shoes and it didn't go away. All the while, I was putting anti-bacterial ointment on it and wrapping in guaze with a pad over it. Didn't go away. It hurt when I walked. Finally found that the converse tennis shoes gave me some relief. But last night it hurt when I tried to sleep. I'd been staying away from my doctor because I didn't know what my employee insurance would cover. Have only limited coverage and a drug discount card, so I've been off my meds for months. The only med I had was for my muscle cramps that the doctor gave me in December. I had stretched out the other meds by taking them every 2 days or so. Soo, when I went to the doctor this morning, was expecting the worst. As yall know, I have a high stress job. Or so I've been told. I think it's fun. Anyway, the blood pressure is high enough to concern the doctor. The insurance is a problem with only the discount card. I can't enroll in the better insurance until October and I told the doctor. Let me tell you right now, I've got a very caring doctor. He understands my situation. He found me samples of a blood pressure med. Enough to last me till October and he prescribed an antiiotic capsule and ointment that wasn't too expensive. In fact, the discount card saved me $15! Other good news is that I've lost 8 pounds since December without any special, outlandish diet. I'd been worried about my weight. Sooo, in general, my health isn't too bad. The doctor said we'd wait until I get the good insurance before we start testing and prescribing other meds. The blood pressure samples will be a test to see if it will work. Like I said, I've got a very caring doctor. I'm really lucky in a crazy kind of way.
