Back @ work

Hello Soth - Well my 2 weeks off went by fast even though I was home most of the time (a couple of day trips) but spent alot of time going through boxes, pictures and just resting....Mentally I was not in a very good place so the time at home without having to put on a happy face was such a relief.

Tomorrow will be 4 years that my mom left this world. Oh how I miss her - she was my best friend and sure kept me on the straight and narrow with my emotions. I miss her more than words can say. With Easter this Sunday and missing my mom and Jennifer,  today was not a good day for me...I'm so damn short fused, have no tolerance and I'm just tired...STILL

I'm so looking forward to the retreat. I feel so connected to you all and can't wait to feel your hugs. I'm so looking forward to laughs and tears but it will be so awesome to be with moms who so understand. Anyway, just checking in - Much love and hugs...Vicki

** Penny - I do want to share a room....** Not able to leave a message on your DS....Vicki

Yes, missing our loved ones really drains us of all our energy! I am so glad that you can attend the retreat, Vicky! Tight hugs to you, my friend. xxx

I am sorry you had such a crappy day! I think (my opinion) the hardest thing is putting on a face. It takes endless amounts of energy from me anyway. I left that face when I went on leave from my job. Only other place I put it on is at my mama's home. It sux!

I too lost my mom and 18 months later we lost our Josh. Sigh. I had anger issues with my mom so perhaps that made it easier? Fortunately or unfortunately (I am not sure) I was too sick to work so putting on a face was not as important, at least on a day in - day out way. Still there were times and oh, how I remember the exhaustion! I feel for you, dear soth. I am still praying for you and Hunter. Oh I wish I could meet you and the others at a reunion but my health still does not permit it. Sigh. Sending love...

I'm grateful to know that your vacation was what you needed it to be. Putting on the "mask" can be so exhausting and to just putter and not have to do that is such a relief.

I'm thinking of your mom and you and remember on the old site a darling picture that you posted of the two of you. My mom shed her earth suit sixteen months after Douglas did and it was such a blow. I sent her with "homework" and many things that I needed her to say to that son of mine and she just grinned and said she wasn't sure if she would be able to do it and I told her, trust me you will be able to. lol!

Sending lots of loving care your way dear Vicki and am excited to get to meet you in Seattle. Woo HOO!

Wearing the mask is what for me, I call "putting on the show". I can do it well, but only for short times. Glad you had a nice vacation and hope you are feeling refreshed and ready to carry on again.
I am trying to decide about going to the retreat and I am so glad you are able to go.. :)
