Back to the Grind
It has been a truly great weekend. Even the Tit for Tat skirmish with hubs was great in that we resolved ^it^ with fair grace and dignity. No Big Picture resolutions. *Just* brackets on the skirmish at hand. Not feeling any anxiety over anticipating the next skirmish or need to carry the arguments to the next level. Skids happen. This skid was handled and I will worry about the next one when/if it gets here.
Meanwhile, it is great to see the urban homestead settling after the big shuffle and even greater to see the resident grown-ups gaining confidence in handling the domestic details without daily leaning on my "Not Working" management. You can do this, guys. I believe in you. Even the three year old grandson is starting to trust the resident grown-ups. He still has trust issues with Uncle and his S.O., but he talked to them freely this weekend. He even asked the S.O. to "Give me food." I don't know if the S.O. has enough experience with physical children to know what an honor that is, but I have yet to meet a child that will ask for food from just anybody. It is as high an honor as a three year old has to offer.
The isolation issue remains intact up at the job site. My goal for the week is to research the local community options for isolation breaking. In between combing barn floors and clearing pastures, of course. It gauls me that planting season is upon us and I have no planting beds prepped. Small steps. . .
