Back to normal

After a horrible day last Wednesday, things have gotten back to normal.  No, my husband didn't leave and things are maintained for now.  I know it will take work to get to a place where we want to be... so it is just a matter of working on things.
Tonight I have another Eastern Star meeting.  It is my second as Worthy Matron, which is like the president of the chapter.  We are doing an initiation tonight and I am nervous because I should have something memorized and I don't.  I know I can get away with reading it, and it isn't too much, but I would much rather have it down.  I also know that the person being initiated is nervous, but in reality, she doesn't have to do much tonight except walk with someone leading her.  I remember being really nervous during my initiation and I had people there who I knew, so I can understand.
I am enjoying filling this role, but as someone who is doing it for the first time, it is frustrating when others who have done it numerous times assume that I know what I am doing and treat me like an idiot when I make a mistake.  Without someone to mentor me or answer questions, I am going to flounder a bit.  Isn't that normal?  You would think as adults there would be less of that, but I think it is worse in this group than in the similar organization for teenagers!
Anyway, back to what I was doing.  I will have lots of time tonight to practice my part before the meeting starts, so that is a good thing.  Hopefully I will be organized enough to have the meeting go quickly so that I don't have to stay out late.  :)
